My friends and I stayed here for 1 night and wish that we had stayed there for longer. When I was planning our trip, the hotel did not look impressive on the Internet but it was a pleasant surprise in reality. Located in a spice plantation, it was interesting and different from other hotels I have ever visited. Excellent service.... more

See india as you travel the 5 hours from Kochin to Thekkady - only 185 kilometers but at 25 mph. An experience of the manic, crazy, toot toot filled travel that driving is in India. After the heat of the coast, the atmosphere here was a most welcome change. Still sunny but about 25C clear and fresh air. Hotel very... more

Spice Village is a beautiful resort with very helpfull staff and good service. The bungalows are clean and beautiful, the pool is nice and the buffet restaurant is good. There is a good bar and a very romantic a la carte restaurant. We enjoyed this place a lot, stayed here 2 nights and would have liked to stay longer but... more

We spent two nights in Spice Village and really enjoyed it. The welcome was excellent and through the whole stay everybody was very helpful. The property is very well maintained, clean rooms, garden in immaculate condition, restaurant with a lot of choice, cooking annimation in the evening, local dance demonstration, and much more. I can only recommend. more

Spice village is nice place to stay in Thekkady. It is expensive, but I feel it is comfortable place to stay and you get value of the money you pay here. Rooms were clean. But not comfortable with Mosqito and small insects. Travel with Good night so that you can sleep well. Resort has good activities - cooking class, traditional... more

Good: Everything at Spice Village was gentle to the soul - the service, interiors, cleanliness, the and the food. Each room is essentially a cottage with an attached bath and a small patio circling the cottage. We saw a mix of Indians, couples and westerners, mostly Europeans with their families. The bar in the evenings has the feeling of an... more

Lovely bungalows; superb staff; plenty to see in the surrounding area. Restaurant manager incredibly helpful and really enjoyed our snooker tournament with Francis in the bar. Couldn't fault it. more

Spice village was one of the better places we stayed during our time in India. Everything was clean, the hotel staff were always friendly, and the food was quite good. The setting is very peaceful, wild chicken-like things running around clucking, spices grown on the premises and a pool to relax at. They also managed to ship my sunglasses back... more
