Khajuraho is a peaceful and sleepy countryside village, with the exception of the main street where the hard-sell factor by touts and shop owners is quite high. Despite being right on the main road (and therefore one or two minutes by foot to the main temple complex), the Hotel Surya was very quite and relaxing, with a peaceful and green... more

I stayed in a very cheap room with a bed that was narrow and hard. The room was adequate. There are other rooms that cost a few hundred rupees more. These were much more pleasant. The cafe garden is most attractive and peaceful. The cafe food was unexciting. There is an excellent restaurant opposite the hotel in Jain Temple Road. more

We stayed in this hotel few days back and it was very good. For the price that you pay it is very clean, exteremely friendly staff and good facilities. I had given some linen for washing and i forgot to collect them when I left khajuraho. The hotel owner Mr Nitin made it a point to send them to me... more

For the price that you pay, this hotel is great value. Clean rooms and linen, spotless bathroom, ground floor room with private balcony (garden view), efficient service and a mostly quiet hotel. The staff is really helpful for booking tickets, understanding about check-in and check out times and about coming back late to the hotel. more

Hotel Surya was a beautiful space away from the heat, noise and bustle of Khajuraho. The garden was delightful and with the restaurant tucked away there, it was nice and quiet. We watched a lovely sunset from our room. And enjoyed listening to the birds. The staff were very helpful; our laundry was returned to us beautifully and very reasonably... more

The Surya was clean, friendly, extremely helpful and excellent value. We had a room opening onto the courtyard garden which meant it was nice and light but it was a little bit noisy. We were there over Divali and the owners made a good effort to organise a fun evening for everyone. The hotel is entirely vegetarian and the food... more

I have rated this hotel 4/5 based on value for money. Khajuraho is a bizaar place as far as Indian towns go since it is remote, pretty small, and relatively peaceful. Its worth staying in Khajuraho just to chill out for a few days from some of the maddening places like Varanasi or Agra. The hotel itself is fine with... more

This is a genuinely well located hotel in Khajuraho - just walk down the street and you are at the major group of temples! A few other words to help readers decide on this hotel: Pros: Staff were fine (generally helpful); our room was large and clean; the room had a working TV with cable (normally not important but as... more
