We were warned by our Travel Agent that foreigners are welcomed more than Indians in Rajasthan and that came tru in our last leg of Mewd/Marwad tour, at Rang Mahal. I found the staff pretty cold and snobbish. I wonder if the attitude was such towards the Indian guests that they had as i saw them extremely warm towards the Dollar payers. First of all, they refused to honor our 2-night reservation (confirmed and paid for). Tossed us out after one night, and were pretty rude about it, too. Breakfast was minimal, served in a depressing room. Dinner was outside, buffet-style, so the food was cold by the time we got it back to our table. Plus the area is very poorly... more

Rang Mahal is situated in a beuatiful building. The pool is sparkling clean (after two earlier attempts with dirty pools this was very uplifting) and is the hotels main asset. But why does the hotel only provide 9 sunbeds for 120 rooms? And why does the guy poolbar insist (even after proven wrong several times) that it is not possible... more

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights during October 2006. We checked in upon arrival after a long drive and after finding out that the place we booked ahead was too terrible to stay in. The facade of the hotel is very nice but the rooms are somehow boring. We did not encounter any problems in terms of cleaness.... more

I stayed at the Rang Mahal between 22-23 Oct 2006. It is well designed and laid out with all the basic and functional amneties and no luxuries. What it lacks the most is warmth and service. The bedsheets were too short for the beds - a good ten inches of the mattress was left exposed for one to sleep upon.... more

We stayed there for one night upon arrival at Jaisalmer and were immeditely disappointed by the atmosphere. It was late at night so we checked in anyway. The volumes are too big, the hotel decoration is tacky, the rooms are very motel-like, the swimming pool may be big, but is really nothing special and was full of bugs, the breakfast... more
