Excellent location and good food. Rooms are not that great but reasonable for one/two night stay more

No complaints with this hotel either. It's a slightly better hotel with a decent staff. It's not a Taj propertly and you shouldn't go there expecting that. It's a great property on the outskirts of the loud area, so it's actually quiet enough. Only complaint for some folks may be the air force jets flying by. Which i personally liked.... more

I have no complaints, whatsoever, about this hotel. I love the city and the hotel made it much better. Sure it may be a bit far from the city, but it is not something to be missed out on. The name says it all and it truly is a palace! The architecture and everything! Its a desert paradise! more

The Rang Mahal met all of our needs, the reception and other staff were friendly and helpful, the room and bathroom were clean and nicely decorated. We ate one evening meal here, in the garden. The buffet was very good, lots of variety and well cooked. We were entertained by musicians and ladies dancing, which made for a delightful atmosphere.... more

We were warned by our Travel Agent that foreigners are welcomed more than Indians in Rajasthan and that came tru in our last leg of Mewd/Marwad tour, at Rang Mahal. We also paid top dollars for the rooms and see no reason for the distinguishment. We felt the hotel staff has been trained to treat the firangs with better gloves.... more

The Rang Mahal hotel looks superb at first sight. This yellow sandstone hotel fits in perfect with the city of Jaisalmer. The lobby, swimming pool and surroundings were so impressive, that we were quite disappointed by our room. The rooms are very standard and the bathroom was in desperate need of a renovation. visited in nov 2008, with family and friends... satisfied with service and rooms. nice pool, actually sparkling clean. with bar aside.. nice to hang around...and very peacefull too. around 75% visitors were non-indians and staff seemed to pocket their tips only....actually i found this problem of attending foriegners more for dollar/euros tips during my whole rajasthan tour..... so this is... more

I found the staff pretty cold and snobbish. I wonder if the attitude was such towards the Indian guests that they had as i saw them extremely warm towards the Dollar payers. The hotel is nice and the pool is fantastic. Resturant isnt good, but the rooms are fine. Its not such a great place, but better than others in... more
