A very pleasant family guesthouse, run by Pankaj - the earnest, eager-to-please and friendly owner. We chose his best room - what was described as the 'honeymoon sweet' (sic). It's not actually a suite, but a large cool room in the fort walls, with a small en-suite bathroom (toilet & shower) We stayed in the off-season, and although Jaisalmer is... more

As Pankaj, the owner of Victoria says: "Everything is possible here". If not, almost everything one could desire, can be fulfilled. Sometimes you don't even need to say it, you just have to think about it and Pankaj will provide you what you had in mind. As well, desert safaris can be planned, flight tickets booked, car rent, city useful... more

Located at the Jaisalmer fort, Hotel Victoria is a small hotel run by Mr Pankaj Purohit and his friendly team. I have booked my stay with them (3 nights in April 2008) via their internet site, and their response was immediate (not very common in India, based on my experience…). Once there, I got a big, clean room with air... more

I have stayed at Hotel Victoria twice now. Once in 2003 before they were discovered by Lonely Planet, and again in December 2006. I would never stay anywhere else in Jaisalmehr! Pankaj and his team are the most friendly down-to-earth hoteliers that I found during my entire 6 month stay in India! Not only are the boutique hotel rooms spotless... more

My family and I stayed at Hotel Victoria for 4 nights in March. The booking was made by a travel agent in Delhi and we werent really srue what to expect. What a fortunate place for us to have ended up. Right along the city wall, it has great views out of all the rooms. The rooms are simple but... more

I stayed here with my son for a couple of nights and it was the perfect place to stay in Jaisalmer. Nothing is too much trouble for Pankaj, he really goes out of his way to make your stay memorable. It is very atmospheric, tasteful and very clean. Highly recommended. more

My wife and I travelled to India and only had 2 quick days in Jaisalmer.... let me tell you that this hotel is the perfect place. It is located in the Fort itself providing incredible sunset views on the city. It is walking distance to all the shops. It also has a rooftop deck from which the views of the... more

Hotel Victoria is a great place to stay and see the western part of Rajasthan, it is inside the wonderful yellow sandstone fort at Jaisalmer. Pankaj the owner and his staff are warm, friendly and very helpful, always wanting to help make your visit memorable. While I understand the need to protect vulnerable places by restricting visitors this must be... more

Staying at Hotel Victoria was a unique experience for our family. It was like a home inside the great Jaisalmer Fort. The room was big and comfortable. Decor was true Rajasthani, lots of cushions in bright colours. Bathroom was modern. The best thing abut the hotel was its owner, Pankaj. He was very helpful and friendly, always available to answer... more
