We returned after 3 years to stay once again in the very special Palace of Devgarh (Deogarh), which we had been so impressed with before. The family have been active in the interim, upgrading and renovating rooms and wings of the Palace to accomodate the increasing numbers of tourists who wish to visit. There are now more Excursions on offer,... More

This is my 3rd visit to Deogarh Mahal, over 7 years and it is my favourite place in all India. The Mahal is a fairy tale confection where you are welcomed with a drum roll and a shower of marigold and rose petals! Rooms are all individual - beautiful and quirky - and very well equipped with hot water bottles... More

This restored palace is what you dream of when you think of Rajasthan. The architecture is breathtaking (the audio tour is worth taking to hear the story of how the royal family restored it), our room had a huge bathroom and lovely veranda, and the views of the quiet surrounding town from numerous points around the property were terrific. The... More

This hotel was a wonderful surprise to us. As far as we were concerned, it was an overnight stay between Udaipur and Jaipur but it turned out to be the most enjoyable stay of our whole 3 week holiday. The hotel is a palace and part of a group of heritage hotels we'd stayed in throughout our trip but this... More

We stayed 3 enchanting nights at Deogarh Mahal in mid December. The weather was perfect, and the setting gorgeous. Though our pick up from Udaipur airport was a little delayed, the 3 hour journey to the hotel was interesting. The staff is courteous and many of them are very knowledgeable, having lived in Deogarh almost all their lives. The royal... More

The 6 of us travelling from Canada stopped here for 2 nights, as a break from the extensive touring of monuments we had undertaken. The hotel is truly spectacular. A converted palace, that affords you the opportunity to imagine living like a Maharaja. The rooms are all unique and the hotel has made a fine decision to maintain the authentic... More

A very quiet retreat ,an oasis of peace , in thé rural Town of Deogarh.Right in the center of this little town you enter into the palace, perfectly maintained ,where you receive a very smiling welcome.Service is at all times very attentive and smiling. We had a suite ,in the front building ,very large couple of rooms, with a gigantic... More

Six of us travelling together thoroughly enjoyed this hotel. The service we received was first rate and we enjoyed the individuality of the three very different rooms (take a look at the website for the range of styles of rooms). My only warning is that if you have trouble with stairs then this is not the place for you. The... More

We stay one night on our way from Ranthambore to Jodpur, it is a very different experience, all the rooms are different. One very good point is that they employ local people to wait at table, and do other jobs, very commendable! More

I had the most amazing time staying at the Deogarh Mahal. The lovely Family that run the palace were so accommodation and friendly it felt like i was part of the family. The hotel is converted from an old Rajastani palace and all details have been kept to the orthentic style of the period. Take the audio tour and learn... More
