I've had an unusual stay at the Garden Hotel in that it's often used by the HRH grou of hotels or the MMCF, the charitably foundation run by the palace, to house consultants. It's literally been home for over a year. So while I can't comment authoritatively on booking or payment practices (see other review), I can comment on the rooms and service.
There are 29 rooms of various kinds. The property initially used to be the Palace Motor transport division, was used as staff housing, and then converted into a hotel. It's a pleasant location, and the rooms are generally comfy, and very clean. Sometimes there's too much furniture, but otherwise not a problem!
The room service can be a little slow, especially during a rush, and food quality is mixed. Their Indian generally tends to be better than continental or Chinese, although their sandwiches are good and they do eggs rather well.
