Shikarbadi is the erstwhile 70s art-deco style hunting lodge of the Mewar royal family, converted into a hotel for over a decade now. The property also has an airport, agricultural and stud farm, and cricket pitch, which makes for interesting variety on your strolls. It's situated 5 kms from the city centre, so you will have to make sure you... more

The Place is extra ordinary, It gives you feeling a of a Royal Treat. The Food is excellent, never head such a soft "ROTI" anywhere in the world. Worth Visiting the Place. more

We stayed at the Hotel Shikarbadi at Udaipur during a brief visit to Udaipur. The suite was great, with large rooms and a pleasing environment around the hotel. Service was courteous. Though the hotel is a little distant from the highway/main road, we did not feel any inconvenience as we had our car. Great Value for money. more

With deer, peacocks, egrets and goat herds all next to the hotel at various times of the day in a lovely reserve, this hotel has something special. Also a lovely garden with adjacent cricket ground and horse paddock to add to the magic. Our room at the front was spacious and comfortable, with a huge old-fashioned bathroom. The food was... more

Booked through agent and there were initial hiccups but the staff took effort to solve issues and were cooperative. The overall ambience is good. Complaints are attended sympathetically and effectively. The Deluxe rooms are rustic and spacious and amenities are good. Food is costly. Better to have a vehicle and eat out and get your own mineral water. Room service... more

WHAT A DUMP! do not stay here if you have any other option. as a veteran traveler of over 40 countries i know that all hotels don't conform to western standards but this was awful, it smelled as if the rooms were built on top of a cesspool.the television, heater, and safe did not work. and food was outrageously priced figuring... more

Booked their winter package for 2 nights. Located at the end of a dirt track overlooking a watering hole and surrounded by impressive scenery. The hotel is set in lovely gardens with a pool and by far the best part is when the deer/buffalo/monkeys/eagles/peacocks come to feed by the water hole which is all that left of the lake in... more

It was an unlikely surprise at the end of a DIRT road! A large, clean, well maintained, well manicured former hunting lodge of the Maharaja of Udaipur! Our expectations were not very high when we turned off the main road to follow a tiny metal sign that indicated we follow a single lane dirt path. Soon we came upon a... more

After travelling around Rajasthan for a week this was an ideal place to stay as it's very quiet & relaxing. It is a way out of the city but it only costs 200 rupees for a cab & a lot less for a phut phut. The chalets are attractively furnished and the front faces the deer park & the back... more

A travelling companion and I stayed in a twin bedded room at the Shikarbadi Hotel, Udaipur, on 3 March 2006. That day we had travelled for 9 hours from Indore with our own hired car and driver. Our stay was very enjoyable, as the hotel was quiet, neat and well maintained and it employed many pleasant, helpful staff. As the... more
