Rang Niwas is a property I've always wanted to stay in because of its pool and lovely lawn/ courtyard. The reception staff are friendly and polite and I've read many reviews that say guests were treated like family. Most of that's true but there was a small glitch when we had to change rooms because of a previous booking -... more

Good rooms, very responsive management - it would have been perfect except for the incessant traffic noise and the dogs all around barking all night. One set of rooms are right next to a busy road and intersection, where they honking never stops. This would be a good place for normal to heavy sleepers; for them I'd give it five... more

This hotel has beautiful heritage rooms, set in nice gardens, with swimming pool. Managment was friendly and very helpful and we wish we had stayed longer. It is away from the bustle of the town but close enough to be part of it. Really great hotel, not to be missed. more

We stayed in July 09. Fantastic friendly family run hotel. Beautiful lush gardens, we were made to feel right at home. I would return to Udaipur just so we can stay at Rangniwa's again. The children loved the pool and the puppies, the staff and the family. Peaceful yet a stones throw away from all the hustle and bustle of... more

I stayed at Rangniwas Palace Hotel for 2 nights in one of the mid-range a/c rooms in the old wing. Due to it being off season and low occupancy, I was able to get a pretty good deal (although the tarrif did not include breakfast) The room was spacious and beautifully furnished with antiques and the bathroom was perfectly acceptable... more

A lovely if somewhat down-at-heel old mansion with a small garden and pool. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The hotel is situated in the centre of Udaipur, but as a result there is some traffic noise. Very cheap and tasty food on rooftop restaurant and the cheapest beers of our holiday. The staff were outstandingly friendly and helpful. more

Rangniwas was our first hotel in India during our trip. After a night on the Mewar Express from Delhi we were warmly welcomed by the staff. We enjoyed the stay with great rooms, a good pool which our kids enjoyed very mucht and a very committed staff. The hotel is an old little palace. A part of the hotel is... more

Yet another independent small hotel in India that puts the multi-national giants to shame by offering a free pick up from the train station. The hotel itself is a 15/20 minute walk from the centre of town, up a narrow road where you have to dodge the cows and the traffic. Being a little way out helps to add an... more

Rang Niwas was a great place to stay - we had a lovely albeit smallish room. A shared large balcony where we had breakfast served every day - fantastic. The location is a short walk from the main centre but was no hassle at all. The value for money was excellent - would definately stay here again. more
