The Kumars (Renu, Mugdha and the wonderful Rajat) are an amazing family. They manage, very quickly, to convert a commercial exchange into a deeply personal and heart-warming experience. For a homestay, it is not cheap, but when you consider what you get for the price, it represents excellent value for money. 3 delicious meals a day, fully guided days tailored... More

The hospitality offered by The Familyis beyond comparison. We were lucky to be invited to share Diwali with the whole family and I cannot overstate just how friendly and warm the WHOLE family were. Renu even bought us a present of Indian clothes for Diwali so we could look the part . We were extremely honoured to be invited and... More

We will never forget our stay at Aakriti, this was the best part of our travel in India. The hospitality of the whole family and the warmth of our welcome made us feel at ease immediately. We had very interesting discussions about all kind of topics, we laughed a lot and Renu’s food is just delicious. Our room was wonderful,... More

During our two weeks trip trough the south of india, we stayed for two days at Aakriti. We have been welcomed very warm and had a great time there. The whole Family at Aakriti made every effort to give us an impression of the culture, the food and the people of this part of india. They showed us how to... More

We stayed at Aakriti for 6 nights, and would happily move in permanently! The Nilgiris are a beautiful area of India anyway, but the family made this stay extra special. Their warm and hospitality and the good humour and fun we had made our stay a truly memorable experience. Cookery lessons were a joy with Renu - and the family... More

We had a wonderful stay at Aakriti, where we were made to feel part of the family. We were given food fit for royalty - the most delicious dishes at every meal, and then given the opportunity to learn how to cook them. The location is simply gorgeous, on a steep slope on a tea plantation, with two sorts of... More

We never experienced a homestay like the one at the Akriti. We learned so much about Indian culture, religion, nature, food and tea and enjoyed all the great and interesting discussions in a fantastic environment. More

ExplorIndya (1-7 Jan 11) Came across Rajat and ExplorIndya through Responsible Travel. I do not usually rely on agencies when I travel but unforeseen circumstances brought me to organise this very last minut eand hence needed some help. Could not find a better travel advisor, reliable, competent and extremely professional. I then met Rajat and his family at Aakriti as... More

We stayed in Aakriti for 2 nights and we will always remember it as a lovely experience. Not only because we had a great time up there in the misty hills with Ravi and Rajat, going for walks, visiting the tea plantations and a little factory, cecking out the market and enjoying the BEST INDIAN FOOD EVER that renu prepared... December 2010 We booked this homestay (Aakriti) as part of a 21 day vacation booked with ExplorIndya and it was a tranquil oasis in what was a busy schedule. A well appointed home with excellent individual rooms for guests set in a small Tea Plantation with some stunning views across the hills. As part of our stay the Kumar's provided... More
