We booked this hotel via an agent in India (Ashoka Holidays - very good service), and requested a superior room with a Taj View. From the moment we arrived in the foyer we realsied that their idea of five star and the standard of five star hotels we had already experienced in India (Jai Mahal Palace in Jaipur and Claridges... more

This hotel was adverised as 5 star with roof bar overlooking taj mahal!! when we arrived it stank of damp and mothballs. we had to walk the long way to our room as the lifts werent working and the room was dark, smely, outdated and not equipped for 3 sharing! the hotel reminds us of faulty towers. we chose this... more

Everyone needs to visit Agra at least once in their lives. this was my 2nd and Mrs M's first. Chosen for us by our excellent agent in Delhi nad confirmed by us from checking the website. This has to be one of the nicest places to stay in India if not the world. Three of us (one couple and a single) stayed here while visiting the Taj. We booked through Bhavyaholidays an Indian travel agent based out of Delhi (they were great). Booking through the agent the price was much cheaper than what the hotel quoted... I'm glad we paid the lower rate as this hotel did little to impress. Everything is old... more

This hotel was part of a tour and after the first hotel we were very pleasantly surprised. After arriving and settling in our rooms we were all in fantastic moods. The front desk and concierge were extremely helpful and professional. The pool was a nice little spot to chill out as was the little coffee lounge. Rooms were spacious and... more

We got a decent price using hotels.com but other things such as the restaurant, the beauty salon (where we got mehndi done) were rather pricey. But my friend and I felt it was worth it! We enjoyed spoiling ourselves there. As Lonely Planet mentioned, the hotel is showing a bit of age but still is a 5-star hotel w/ a... more

Large, soulless hotel in need of a make-over. Catering for large tour groups, the solo traveller is treated like a poor relation. Because we had booked on-line we were not allowed to have the buffet breakfast but sent to an empty coffee lounge for toast and tea only. The rooms were large and well-equipped. None of the staff, tour agency,... more

Stayed here for one day to visit Taj mahal. Room is basic and shower was made by plastic tube from bath inlet - hadn't seen these in hotels for 30 years. Pool is very nice though and good place to relax - soft comfortable beds and shade under trees. Restaurant was OK. Found 2 cockroaches swimming in the toilet basin,... more

The hotel is quite dated but rooms were spacious and clean. Service was good and food at the restaurants not too bad. We stayed over the peak Christmas period so it was a bit expensive. During non-peak periods it probably represents better value for money. more

We stayed here as part of our Voyages Jules Verne Golden Triangle Tour and really enjoyed it. On our first night we had drinks in the bar and then dinner in the posh restaurant which was delightful. There was live music entertainment and the food was good, if not excellent. The rooms were fine and comfortable, although we had a... more
