Glad only to be staying one night. It was necessary to find wheeled transport to anywhere of interest. Everything already said is fair. We stayed in 4 hotels in India and this was the least satisfactory; especially the breakfast. We went to the Taj Mahal at 7am, checking that breakfast was available until 10.30am. In fact we were back by 9.45 to find cold, stewed tea, congealed pancakes and cold hard toast. I have visited Agra on several times and stayed at different hotels and all selected by myself. But this time I was travelling with my partner and daughter I opted for one recommended by Tour operator. He said 'Hotel Royale Residency' is very good and excellant and all travellers prefer it ! We arrived after a very long journey from Jaipur (what a lovely place) and the reception staff were very grumpy. We were taken to our rooms on the fourth floor (via a lift which opened onto an open roof top with piles of rubble) and the porters told us proudly that our rooms were new and only finished a month... more

We stayed at this hotel as part of an Intrepid Comfort tour (north india highlights). We were here for just one night. The hotel is rather impressive from the outside. It's just average on the inside. The rooms were big and clean, but the "view" from the window was nothing but a dirt field of trash. The staff was fine.... more

We stayed for one night and it was a depressing experience. The room was old and tatty and the whole place was very noisy. Breakfast was inedible and the service mediocre. This is really a great hotel with it's location, in front of the shopping centres and just a 10 min walk to Taj Mahal...It's also quit new, it's neat and clean, the price is also good... but we didn't like the customer service...some staff doesn't even communicate in English and when we checked in, I find the reception not helpful... more
