Spent 6 nights at the Glenburn Tea Estate in early December. We were a party of four people (2 couples). Glenburn far exceeded our expectations. After a most disappointing 8 hour journey up to Darjeeling on the Darjeeling Himalayian Railway which, although is a world heritage site, has the most dilapidated carriages, filthy broken seating and a foul toilet. We... more

Your journey to Glenburn is rather long and bumpy but it is well worth it. At the end you arrive at this beautiful small hotel with large well appointed rooms and amazing views. The staff - lead my Neena are all very helpful, the food is wonderful - the 'en familie' dinners are a lovely feature. Walking down to the... more

A flawless place is the only way to describe the glenburn experience - its run with a lot of love and passion and it shows. The rooms are cosy, old-wordly and friendly - quite unlike a hotel. The breakfast place is on the terrace shaded by trees from which fruits hang right above your head. The staff has a genuine... more

We went to Glenburn on our Honeymoon. Words can hardly describe the beauty of the place. Views of the Himalayas, excellent service, great rooms and Michelin star food were my key highlights. I would recommend the place to anyone wanting to get away from the hustle and bustle of urban life looking for a retreat close to the heavenly Himalayas. more

If I were to say all the goodthings about this hotel you would be reading for days and days and days and days. I am part of a family of six and we stayed at Glenburn on Vacation. We flew from Kolkata to Bagdogra on Kingfisher Airlines and were greeted by two Glenburn staff at the airport. It was a... more

Glenburn is a magnificient Country House Hotel on a Tea Plantation about an hour and a half from Darjeeling. Everything about the hotel from the moment they picked us up at Bogdagra airport till we left the hotel 4 days later was exceptional. We were met at the Hotel by Neena who will ensure that every guest expectations are exceeded.... more

Our Background: My husband and I have traveled all over the world in different comfort levels (from 5 star to 1 star), methods, etc. and currently reside in NYC. We chose Glenburn rather haphazardly based on reviews from this website, with the intention that this would be the relaxation part of a three week honeymoon in India and Dubai. We... more

I spent 3 glorious days at Glenburn in October and wished I had booked longer. Although wonderful areas of the world, after days of spartan accommodations in eastern Bhutan and India, I needed some luxury and pampering and found it a Glenburn. I truly felt I had discovered heaven. A beautiful location, wonderful accommodations, food, staff and the extraordinary welcome... more

The Glenburn is a unique experience. You are met by a car at the airport down on the plains and driven up into the hills. On the way you stop for tea and sandwiches at a scenic spot. On arrival you are met by your hostess, Neena, and garlanded and offered yet more delicious tea. We stayed in the Planter's... more

This place really is special. It is just the right combination of adventure and absolute luxury. After living in India for a year and travelling to many places, I was really impressed by this place. If you are looking for a unique, hassle free holiday topped off with amazing service then you should definitely go to Glenburn. The other reviews... more
