We just stayed one night at Suartha on our way through Ubud. Some guy on the street brought us there because we had been into so many other places and found them to be too dirty or too expensive. We negotiated a night for 100,000 Rp with breakfast and a fan only - not all places in Ubud even offer a/c. The room was large and was one of the few places where we had a mossie net above the bed. The bed wasn't the most supportive as it was all foam (really thick foam but very squishy) but for one night it was ok. The place was very quiet except one of the older women living there was up sweeping the grounds in the middle of the night. The breakfast was scrambled eggs on toast with coffe or tea and a heaping plate of fruit and they serve it to your room at whatever time you would like.
There's not a huge sign to show where the entrance is but they also have a salon/spa so that is on the sign. It's close to many restaurants and it's maybe a 10-15 minute walk to the Perama bus...
