I stayed at Angsoka for two nights in one of the highest priced rooms (175,000 rupiah or about US$17-18) with hot water and A/C. The room was cool but I didn’t like staying in it, much less sleeping in it, because it was in serious need of refurnishing and airing. I was afraid to sleep on the bed at first because the bed was soft (I could feel every spring) and the bedcover looked worn and dated from the 1970s. Eventually tiredness won out and the sheets and blanket underneath were cozy enough for a deep sleep. The chair cushions and bathroom fixtures were stained or darkened from use and there were a number of bugs and insects running around, though they seemed harmless enough. There was really no difference between the hot and cold water as both were cool to lukewarm. But the pool was absolutely perfect for those hot days and was the hotel’s one bright redeeming quality.
