Really has to be seen rather than described as Bambu Indah is a truly amazing place. Stunning views , beautiful setting, antique wood houses, open air luxurious bathrooms, stone stepping paths through the gardens, terrific staff giving excellent personal attention, tasty organic food, natural pool for swimming, river walk literally through a secret tunnel/door ... can not recommend highly enough... more

We stayed at Bambu Indah in September for 4 nights. As everyone says, this was one of the best hotel that I've ever stayed in my life. We loved EVERYTHING here. It is simply divine. However, we found it a pity that the bar on the other side of valley was playing a dance music (drum and base) every single... more

We loved the place. There are four villas, but we were the only ones there. The hotel arranged for a driver, massage, hiking trips in the rice fields, cycling, dance show at night and much more. It is close to Ubud, but far enough to feel you have your privacy. We posted a more detail review here http://www.mapplr.com/2009/09/23/bambu-indah-eco-retreat-bali/ . I... more

We stayed for over a week at Bambu Indah and loved it. We would go back any day. We stayed in the largest villa called the Africa House. Everyday we would wake up and sit on the porch to gaze over the rice fields in the valley below. If it's clear, you can see the mountains beyond. The villas are... more

We had 2 nights here in the padi house. The atmosfere in the house and the nature around you is totally in style and works very relaxing. It feels good to be there and take a swim in the natural swimmingpool in front of the house. To go to Ubud centre you need transport that is easely arranged by the... more

We stayed 3 nights at beautiful Bambu Indah which consists of four antique wooden houses imported from Java. Our kids stayed in Padi House and we were in the larger Afrika house next door. Both were stylishly decorated with antiques and had large 4 posterbeds with mosquito netting and airconditioning at night. The open bathroom with large shower and 'clean... more

Bambu Idah was the most memorable hotel from our Honeymoon. It is not a fancy resort full of rooms and other travelers, instead it's more like a B&B with amazing personal service and a sublime location. It felt like staying at a friend's house in Ubud who had the best home in town. As background information goes, the hotel was... more

Bambu Indah - 'Beautiful Bamboo'. Now this is the way to experience the essence of this region. Eco-aesthetic in design throughout, with inspiring bamboo pavillions and antique wooden huts, organic gardens and truly eco pool, all overlooking the Ayung river valley, manicured paddies and three distant volcanoes. Yes, really! Private. Intimate. Nurturing to the environment and the soul. Our experience... more

This place is not like any other place. It is the real Java house you can sleep in. If you like that kind of experience, this is IT!! They are so green conscious, and simple. You feel like you are in the middle of no where....You don't need T.V or music. You hear the chanting from the village next door... more

This is not for everybody, but if someone wants to experience an unusual hotel in a real , isolated Bali setting, this is it. The four houses from Java are old and rustic (maybe a bit too rustic) but with all the modern conveniences--good linens, shower, wi-fi. Everything is environmentally correct and beautifully designed with natural materials. The surroundings and... more
