Our tour guides deposited us as Okawati's our first night in Bali - couldn't have been any happier! - Friendly staff, goregous views, started each morning with a quiet swim in the pool. Stayed for 10 days and did lots of adventuring and day tripping. Went on to stay at other nice spots around the island, but nothing as nice... more

Okawati Hotel is a gem of a place to stay with its amazing, friendly, thoughtful staff, clean and comfortable rooms, and central Ubud location. I appreciated that it was of the beaten path (and near an excellent massage therapy center), beside a rice paddy and steps away from rain forest. Getting to know the staff as friends and individuals was... more

This hotel is an extraordinary experience at an inexpensive price. Nestled in rice fields in the heart of busy Ubud, it is a quiet retreat from a day of touring and shopping. This is my second summer to visit Bali with a large group (a choir from the USA), and we loved staying at Okawati's both times. The rooms are... more

I felt as if I had really come to Bali when I stepped into my room which was large and traditionally furnished. Morning breakfast brought to my balcony by friendly and courteous staff was the perfect way to start the day. There have been many updates and renovations at the hotel since my stay. I have friends who have stayed... more

Excellent location. Very friendly, welcoming and helpful staff. Traditionally furnished bedroom with delightful veranda overlooking lush tropical gardens and swimming pool. Bathroom a bit dated and breakfast options limited but overall a most pleasant and enjoyable stay. A hidden gem that is well worth a visit! more

Hi just wondering about this place as I have stayed there before but they keep putting up the prices dramatically, What is the best 2008 price they have quoted you? more

A lovely and memorable building, elaborate stonework overlooking fields right in the middle of Ubud. Quiet and rural, lovely staff, very convenient to cafes, restaurants and shopping. No A/C -- just fans -- big bathrooms, no hot water heater in room, no TV, very nice pool, mountain bike rentals. The promised wifi in the room never really worked, but there... more

Read a glowing report in Lonely Planet, however, after arrival, a big disappointment. Rooms are dark, poor lighting. Breakfast was OK. When leaving, the room boy kept waiting for a tip (would have given him one if he acted differently. Pool not nearby. No email as stated. Restaurant was not open. Not worth the $25.00-maybe $15.00 more

Stayed 8 nights in Okawati. The A suite, with enormous balcony and view on the pool, was clean, pleasant and spacious with traditional (suggestive) decorations. Bathroom huge and clean, but quite old and unpractical. Bathtub and toilet on elevations. Could be rather tricky for elderly guests. Shower had hot water, but water pressure was low. Staff was very friendly, but... more

The deluxe rooms in this hotel were quite nice, surrounded in very nice gardens with friendly staff members. The rooms are quite large with four post beds and stone carvings decorating the walls, although the bathrooms are old (but not dirty). Breakfast is delivered to your little porch and tea is delivered in a thermos upon your arrival. Be sure... more
