This was our first time to Bali, and from all the places we stayed, Alam Shanti was everyone's favourite. We stayed at the Gangga room, which was next to the pool, and overlooked the rice fields. There was always something to sit and look at. The pool is gorgeous, and we often felt like it was our own pool. The... more

This was our first place on our trip to Bali and the Gili Isles and what a way to start your holiday. We had arranged a pick up at the airport and although it is a little expensive, $25 it was worth the money as the driver was great explaining things streight away and answering our questions about bali on... more

We stayed here for 4 days towards the end of a trip to Bali. This hotel consists of a a small number of "apartments", each in traditional Balinese style, and set in their own tropical gardens. We spent hours sitting on our verandah next to our very own Lotus Lily pond, listening and watching the local birds and other wildlife.... more

Alam Shanti is located in a rather isolated part of Ubud (so I felt), very quiet and lots of privacy. Units are spaced far apart and you will hardly notice anyone around you. Feels like you have the whole place to your self. Any assistance is just a phone call away. You will be surrounded by lots of ponds and... more

My soul got a new lease on life!!!! Alum Shanti was blissful..... this was my first trip to Bali and we went straight from the airport to Alum Shanti.... I admit I had misgivings as we drove for an hour to reach it. Felt I was leaving all my security behind, going to some remote destination. Well all that was... more

Tried the spa for a massage, interesting turmeric and yoghurt experience.!!! very good value. Ate at the Cafe Wayan, and Three monkeys- both excellent. All other reviews have said it all! We live in Asia and have traveled a lot through the area. We picked the Alam Shanti based on the reviews, and the reality exceeded our expectations. The villas, the hotel, the staff and the pool were lovely. The staff had promised us that the room would fit two extra beds for our almost-teenage daughters and it easily did. Their... more

We were only able to stay one night since it was completely booked. I suggest booking early since there are only 8 villas. The location was away from Ubud centre which wasn't too bad since they had a driver available to take you anywhere in the village. We actually preferred the location since traffic was quite busy in the main... more

Our family of 6 stayed at Alam Shanti for 3 nights in early September in Yamuna and Narmada. Nothing much I can write that hasn't already been said about this wonderful boutique hotel. Great service, delicious food, beautiful and spacious accomodation. They had just opened the new spa facilty while we were there and it is very lovely. Treatments are... more
