We returned to Alam Shanti (Dewi Room) on June 18, 2009 to celebrate our anniversary and as expected the first words upon our arrival was “Welcome Home”. Indeed, it was like coming home to a place where we are pampered by their excellent hospitality, nothing is too big for them to assist, always going the extra mile to make our... more

Alam Shanti is everything the other reviews say; the staff are so kind and helpful and unobstrusive. Our room Gangga was fantastic. A couple of tips: the place is isolated as far as shops are concerned so take some snacks with you, maybe a bottle of wine to drink on your terrace. There is no bar or restaurant, but what... more

I have no regret to stay in Alam Shanti. We stayed in Indus and it was a beautiful place and so peaceful. Service was great and everyone are very helpful. Breakfast .... GREAT! However, one night we heard loud music in the back (not from the hotel) and it finally stopped around mid-night. more

Many reviews here have said it, but really needs to be said again... Alam Shanti is a small piece of heaven tucked away in the middle of Bali. We picked on Alam Shanti after seeing it in The Sunday Times Travel supplement, which mentioned that Alam Shanti won a Hidden Gem award in 2006, which would have been it's first... more

The size and splendor of the rooms for the amount of money you're paying provides for excellent value. Book early, though. I booked in March for my May travels (just prior to peak season), and the hotel was fully booked. I managed to sneak in one night there. The rooms are spacious and clean and the staff is incredibly friendly... more

We had 3 night here and wish we could have stayed longer - it was a recommendation from a friend in Jakarta and we loved everything about it. The staff couldn't have been nicer, my wife thought it was the nicest room we'd ever stayed (not 5 star luxuries, but for the personal touches) and loved the outside shower looking... more

We stayed here for 4 nights and absolutely adored it. The rooms were huge and clean, with a beautiful set up allowing for plenty of relaxation outside. We ate a delicious breakfast (you order the day before) on the patio every morning. This hotel group is slightly out of town compared to some other places, but not a far walk... more

Full use of the hotels driver to take you were ever you please when ever you please in ubud. Internet access in the office and overall the best experience we had while in bali. more

Lovely, peaceful setting. So relaxing and welcoming from arrival to departure. Walking distance from Ubud town center. Delicious breakfast included and delivered to our room every morning. Beautiful infinity pool. We stayed 4 nights in the Deluxe Garden View (Indus), top floor. The other Garden View rooms looked nice, too. Free rides to/from town made it so easy to get... more

My husband and I went to Bali and Lombok (Gili Trawangan) on our honeymoon last year. We absolutely loved Alam Shanti and thought our room was spectacular. It was the Indus, which is not even the "best" room but it was upstairs and huge and for the price it was amazing. The bathroom was lovely with a tub/shower that was... more
