A friend who lives in Ubud booked our first 2 nights here so we'd have a place to stay after a long trip and a late night arrival. She had stayed here years ago and was shocked by the price we were quoted: $80/nite. When she stopped by the next morning after we'd had a (lovely) breakfast, she was surprised... more

The rooms are dirty. The staff just don't know how to do a cleaning job. The bathroom was mouldy and 'yucky', despite the superficial gold fittings. Bed linen was stained, and pillows smelly. Some staff members were very pleasant and helpful, the lady in charge completely ignored us after our first complaint. Others were indifferent. We stopped here the previous year... more

My friend and I stayed in the 'Agung' bungalow at Puri Saraswati for 3 nights. The room was basic but very clean, with twin beds, a fridge, air conditioning, phone and private terrace. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom was tiled with marble, although it was looking a bit dated. Our bungalow was at the back of the property... more

A group of us stayed at the Puri Saraswati Bungalows in May 09. Overall we were not pleased with the service or the rooms. The porters seemed to follow us around everwhere wanting tips for doing nothing. We found that the woman at the front desk was rude and in most situations, very unhelpful. All she wanted to do was... more

We spent ten days In Ubud over Christmas 2007/Jan 08 and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We booked directly with the Guest House and final rate was correct - no hidden costs. $US60 per day. Our room was a bungalow style with fan and A/C but no TV or phone. Bed was comfortable. Room was well-maintained and the grounds and pool... more

Stayed here with my two young children and wife in October last year. I meant to write a review at the time, but got sidetracked for the last 12 months :) The place is fantastic - we stayed there a week after staying in Sanur for a week first, and if we'd known how nice Ubud and Puri Saraswati were,... more

Puri Saraswati was a gem in the centre of Ubud. Walk off the footpath into a quiet haven of peace and tranquility. I booked 3 months in advance and when i arrived at the airport after a long flight there was our driver waiting and ready to take us to Ubud as promised. The staff were polite and helpful. The breakfast... more

This was our third time staying at Puri Saraswati. We stay here because we love the position. Rooms are not flash, basic, no television, basic furniture, a little shabby. We really don't care as the location next to the lotus pond is wonderful. Gardens are lovely and the pool is really welcomed after walking the streets of Ubud. Breakfast is... more

Probably the best location in town. Right on the main street and adjacent to an active temple. The rooms are pleasant but quite basic. The major drawback is the lack of service after breakfast. Coming back during the day either to sit on the verandah or by the small pool, it would be pleasant to be able to order something.... more
