We began and ended our week-long stay with Tri Jaya tours by staying at Hotel Deli River. The setting was lovely, the pool was wonderful, the rooms were clean and well organised, and the staff were absolutely delightful. Free WiFi was good, and the restaurant was excellent (which was lucky, since it's the only restaurant accessible on foot!). All services...

My wife and I visited the hotel in November and we have nothing, but good to say about the hotel and the service. The hotel is a lovely haven of peace in comparison to the hectic city outside. The rooms were bright and clean, the restaurant served delicious Dutch and Indonesian food, breakfast was served overlooking the duck pond, the...

I came to Sumatra on the spur of the moment for 6 days. I stayed here for 2 days and then Trijaya (the tour company operated by the owners of the hotel) organised me a trip to the highlands although these were very busy with the holidays. The I came back to Medan for the last day.

It is a pleasant spot to recover from all travel stress before getting on wheels again.
As I was born in North Sumatra before WW-2...

The fact that hotel owner Dirk Buiskool is a Dutch historian with extensive knowledge of Medan's colonial past certainly helped me in chosing this hotel but it was especially the...

As other reviews already stated: The hotel is a beautiful estate in maybe the most beautiful place you could find in Medan: In the outskirts of the city, some 5km south of the airport, built on a hill at the shore of Deli river (as the name suggests). It is a very beautiful hide-away, especially for families with smaller children:...

From this hotel we traveled to some historic places on Sumatra. We spend 3 nights here. The rooms are spacious, quiet and clean. The garden is beautiful and well kept. The swimming pool is very nice and relaxing after a hot day. It has a great view on the Deli river and makes you almost forget you are near the...
