This is the best hotel experience I have ever had! The hotel itself is architecturally astute, built into the old walls of the Old City. The rooms are elegant, sparklingly clean, and the beds are fantastic. The price includes a sumptuous breakfast. This is a small family hotel, where you will get personalized service. The dinners in the restaurant, run by... more

This is probably the best hotel in old Akko. The location is perfect and the hotel is excellent in many ways. Quiet, very clear, friendly. It is not the cheapest hotel, but I believe that the extra money is worth it. more

Despite our short stay (1 night only ) , we got a strong taste of hospitality from the hotel manager , he' s a real help , and the best guide willing to answer to any of your queries related to his hotel or the local history/places . Akkotel is placed in the heart of Old Acco , a "must-visit"... more

We liked Akkotel from the moment we arrived at the custom-made front doors. The owners are following the Parador model (Spain) in researching/providing historically correct decor much of it hand-made woodwork . We had a passport problem, and the hosts made a real effort to help us. The location was unique, right inside the exterior Ottoman fortress wall. The neighborhood... more

I stayed at this hotel along with four friends for two nights over Xmas Eve and Xmas Day 2008. We booked four rooms by contacting the property by email directly, and Rawia Morani was most helpful in answering all of our questions and accommodating several requests, including setting up a Xmas Eve dinner before we arrived. As other travelers have... more

We stayed here for one night and were very happy with it. The building has been beautifully renovated. The room had a very comfortable king bed, flat LCD tv with satellite channels and free wired internet access. The windows are double-glazed which is good if there is noise from the street outside. There are electric shutters which you can use... more

A lovely hotel full of character in historic Akko. Big room and a comfy bed. Wonderful view of the Al Jezzar Mosque from our bedroom window. We didn't eat at the hotel because of the tempting local fish restaurants down by the sea front. Akko is a great place to explore for a couple of days. Don't miss the fabulous... more

I stayed 3 nights in Akkotel last May. It was one of the best hotels I´ve ever stayed in Israel. The hotel is brand new, with free wired and wireless (very fast) internet, lift, good beds, very clean, and a superb location, embedded in the Old City walls. Is by far the best place to stay in Akko. There is a... more

If you find yourself visiting Northern Israel, STAY HERE! The brothers who own the hotel are warm and helpful. One of them did all the carving on all the woodwork and furniture. An amazing breakfast is included in the price, which is 500 shekels, or about $154 US. Stay here in Akko, rent a car, and you can make day... more

We have just returned from a week touring parts of Israel. We stayed at the Akkootel 3 nights. The hotel has heaps of character because it is located just inside the old city by the land gate and shares its back walls with the 16th century Ottoman city walls. We were told that it was originally part of the Turkish... more
