2 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 May 2013 NEW

Stayed here last month.Disappointing as ever. The front desk people did me a great favor by even speaking to me.Unprofessional and rather rude. The rooms are dark, dingy cabins at best-unless you book the overpriced ,newly built Canyon rooms. My sink was leaking and the room stank of old mould and the T V was dysfunctional as well. When I complained about... More

We spent one night at Kibbutz Ein Gedi. The rooms were on the spartan side, but were comfortable enough and clean. The breakfast buffet was very good, but we found the dinner buffet a bit overpriced. Since there is nothing else in the area, they have a captive audience and there were no bargains to be had. there is a... More

Kibbutz Ein Gedi Hotel is in a beautiful location surrounded by canyons and mesas or small mountains that reminded me of New Mexico. The rooms are bungalow style and are neat and comfortable and feature hand-painted desert scenes on the walls. Just off the main lobby is a gift shop with beach items, a dining area, a bar, and an... Perfect place to enjoy your surroundings, beautiful vegetation and scenery, peaceful pool, great food and tiny clean room. The Spa is quite a crazy experience, but that is no problem, it is still soothing. If you are looking for a 5 star, this is it....just a different kind of 5 star.

We stayed two nights in a suite overlooking the gardens. Our room was perfect, clean, modern and spacious. Thank god for the air conditioning, it was so hot - without the air conditioning we would have melted.. Could not fault the room at all. Breakfast & dinner were both well presented & plentiful. The trees & foliage are amazing. It... More

It takes about an hour to an hour and 20 minutes to reach Kibbutz Ein Gedi from Jerusalem, dropping down about 3800 feet (785 metres) to 1388 feet (425 metres) BELOW sea level. The hotel is placed well off the main road (wait until you see the signs for "Kibbutz Hotel Ein Gedi" and don't turn off at the other... More

Unbelievably beautiful location overlooking the Dead Sea and the mountains of Jordan. Our two mini-suites were centrally located, both a plus and a negative, but included access to the new Spa with a pool filled with water from the Dead Sea as well as a 'regular' pool. Food was ok, similar to quality at other Kibbutz we stayed at, not... More

We stayed in a delux room – a huge room with a balcony and an amazing view of the Arugot wadi with a huge bathroom that include both a bath tab with a view, as well as a large rain-shower. The hotel has a new beautiful spa with a view to the Dead Sea. The guests of the deluxe rooms... More

I do not have words for describing the awesomeness of Ein Gedi. Great climate (25°C max in November), amazing nature (plants from all over the world), the unique beauty of the Dead Sea, the wonderful sensation of being out of the "real" world. Furthermore, the Kibbutz offers a great variety of foods (both local and not so local) in its... More

I have stayed here many times over recent years. Pros: incredible location, beautiful grounds and scenery, free access to the dead sea spa. The modern and upscale rooms are very nice. Breakfasts are good, but dinners overpriced. Cons: reservation system and staff. People are not friendly nor efficient. Make sure that you check your reservation for accuracy. When you check... More
