The location might be not the best one, but nothing is really far away when you are on Praslin. You might consider to hire a car (30 euros:day) instead of taking taxis all the time (between 10 and 20 euros depending on th emenght of the trip, e.g. airport to les Laurier= 20 euros). We stayed at Laurier Guest House after eating at the restaurant, visiting the bar and meeting Edwin on our previous visit to Praslin 4 years ago. We had previously stayed at the neighbouring hotel but loved Laurier Bar and Resaurant and Edwin's hospitality. He said that the next time we visited Praslin we should stay with him. We arrived with our 1 1/2 year old son only to find that they had no rooms for us despite booking and having a confirmation six months ahead. The only solution was to stay with a private family for the rest of our trip. They gave us a free meal though, but I'd rather have the room. more
