While the location is wonderful - a truely beautiful stretch of beach, the hotel is awful. 1. Run down rooms 2 Mouldy and smelly bathrooms 3. No hot water 4. A/C works sporadically 5. Flies all over food 6. Reception staff totally useless and iunwilling ... I could go on and on! more

stayed at the lihiniya hotel in 2007 and had a terrific time. ok the hotel needs some repairs but it was hit by the sunami and almost flattenned. the rooms were spotless, the staff great, nothing was too much trouble, the food was beautifully prepared and the location second to none. stayed in nicer hotels but this one could not... more

there are many reasonably priced hotels and guest houses in sri lanka and this is not one of them. Stayed here 2 days booked as a package from the UK. I travelled 23 hours to get to Sri Lanka and when I finally arrived at the hotel I was gutted!
