We booked this hotel as we wanted somewhere in a central location that was small, simple and elegant. We were not disappointed. The hotel decor is a tasteful minimalist style. The bedrooms could do with a bit of a re-furb (which they are getting shortly), even so, they are clean, very spacious, all with large balconies and great sea views.... more

This hotel is clean but in need of redecoration which it is getting next year. It is right on the beach so a great view although the beach is a bit dirty from the fishing boats. Beware of the beach sellers they can rip you off if not careful. We had two pairs of trousers made for £70 and they... more

This was our second visit to Jetwing Seashells this year, hence have earned the friendly title 'repeaters'. Within 24 hours we were relaxed and looking forward to another 14 days of rest and relaxation. Knowing how things worked helped to propel us both into relaxation mood and this was made easy by another warm welcome. The majority of the staff... more

The hotel was lovely. It is advertised as 2* so you go expecting this but it does deliver more. The food is brilliant and the staff are so friendly and will do anything to make your stafy comfortable and memorable. Our room was always kept very clean and a new supply of towels were given every day. Sitting on the... more

Booked to stay at Seashells for first two weeks of September........ unfortunately there were very few guests in the hotel and the hawkers on the beach were relentless.... and i mean relentless!!! It became uncomfortable for husband and I to walk on the beach or along the road. We were sitting ducks!!!! We did hire a fantastic taxi driver who... more

I arrived early after a 21 hour journey to a very pleasent welcome, the sheets in the room were marked but rectified strait away. as soon as i stepped out my room to take in the beautifull view..yes there were about 6 vendors waving seeing pound signs and shouting across, which i might add never ended there, they were in... more

4 for us stayed at the Seashells for 12 days in August 09, in addition to 7 days of touring around the island. Travelled with Mercury Direct & Kingfisher Airlines via Bangalore. No problems with either. Just 30 minutes from the airport, this is a basic 2* hotel that wholly deserves this rating – and no more. The rooms were... more

Great value for money specially for budget travelers. The strip of beach is flatter here so swimming is easier. The hotel has a nice covered outdoor lounge where you can relax and enjoy the beach view. The food is good but breakfast is really bad...stale, limited things to eat...but that is generally the case in most negombo hotels so I... more

We went to Sri Lanka for a friend's wedding and my friend booked this hotel for us. If we had known what it was like we wouldn't have booked this, the place was awful. Please take some other reviews for this hotel with a pinch of salt, especially one which states that this is the only hotel on this particular... more

This is a great place to stay, you feel very integrated into the local culture. The nice thing about Sri Lanka compared to other long haul destinations is you don't feel confined to the resort like in the Carribean & Mexico. You can freely and safely walk outside the hotel and talk to the locals, shop, go to local bars/... more
