We stayed at Browns Beach for two weeks on an all inclusive basis at the end of April/beginning of May. We were a little apprehensive about the hotel after reading the reviews on here but had a wonderful stay. The reception staff were very welcoming and showed us to our room which was quite basic but had a lovely view... more

Staff at Browns Beach I have to say were very very helpful, happy and friendly, with the exception of most of the "front desk" staff. There I'm afraid is where all positive comments end. We stayed in a damp smelling beach hut/chalet with the dirtiest bed side rugs ever seen. The bathroom had only partly been tiled, the shower holder,... more

Have stayed at this hotel many times, but restaurent service has declined. Little attention to detail. Tables not cleared. 'Hot' buffet food often cold. Frequently run out of essential items - no coffee for 45 minutes one morning. Staff not bothered. General manager shows no interest. Wine watered down one evening. Very loud music in beach bar at night. TV... more

We upgraded to beach room when we arrived, as standard rooms are very tired, dirty and pillows and mattress disgusting!! Food at the Hotel not to bad, we ate at Coconut Primitive accross the road most nights (great service from Calum) very cheap. Beach sellers a real pain, Staff at Browns Beach are superb they are always smiling, and extremely... more

We stayed at this so called Browns Beach "Guest House" in Negombo, in the beginning of this month and had one of the most awful holidays ever for ourselves. Though the location is perfect, the guest rooms and the public guests contacts were not really acceptable for a hotel. They have their own Housekeeping Manager who do not even bother... more

We stayed at this hotel in May 2008 for 12 nights. When we arrived, the check in was good and quick, given a cold dink and then shown to our rooms. Disappointed with the first room as very basic and in need of updating. We were then shown another room and was slighlty better. The following day we upgraded to... more

After reading some of the reviews on here I was a little wary however for anyone considering booking this hotel go ahead it is just fine. We stayed in the Beach Bungalow rooms and they are perfect - modern furnishings , very clean and a beautiful location. They have there own sun loungers outside and chairs and table on your... more

We have just returned from our 9days holiday in Browns Beach Hotel. From our travel agency we had paid for a Standard room in the main building. As I have read the reviews on this page I expected it a bit, but to be honest, it was really disaster - I would never take a shower in the bathroom of... more
