Just back from three weeks in Sri Lanka, we stayed at the Silver Sands at the start and finish of the trip. The guys there were not tht friendly and the rooms were rather shabby with dirty beds and stained pillows where we even found a dead roach!! At the dinner time, we found the tablecloth was sticky and flecked. Then we waited almost 40mins for the drinks and the meal. That's really not a worthy place.

We got one of the bigger rooms upstairs with a balcony for about $33/night, with a/c. After long flight we came to Negombo and stayed in this hotel because of good references. We took the cheapes available room for 2 300 RS (little bit dark room, without any view). Room was clean, big enough for 2 nights stay and there was no noise. Good for our purpose - sleeping and relaxation after flight to Srí Lanka.... More

Cost of on night 2600R.The breakfast is OK, but if your are very hungry, go to a another restaurant. We had breakfast and dinner at the PancakeHouse restaurant. Great. This restaurant is next door to the hotel. Beware of mossies.
