The hotel is old with the usual smell of old carpet when you enter the room although they did well in keeping the room as clean as they could. We needed wi fi connection and was told that it worked in the room. It didn 't and it only worked in the reception area intermittently. Breakfast was good but at... More

We were staying at this hotel on a group tour. The hotel was ok and clean but room a bit small. Food at the restaurant was good and services were excellent. The waiters were very attentive and spotted things which have to be done even before guests noticed the need. The chef also kept checking quality and quantity of food... More

+ clean, nice his one and staff, better prepared than other better hotel chains good breakfast - expensive, out dated rooms, poor wi-fi Found only 2 hotels in Homs; this one and Homs Grand hotel; the other was worse so it was the only 'forced' choice; too expensive for facilities and services. If you can find other options dig in... More

We stayed here for one night while touring the major sights in Syria. We just needed to break up the trip so that we didn't have a long drive between Aleppo and Damascus. This is quite an old hotel, but it is well-maintained, so it was clean. Otherwise, it is characterless, and there is really no reason to go to... More

Wholly unremarkable hotel used by tour groups. We stayed there one night and ate there that evening. The food was indifferent, with a bulk standard buffet of typical Syrian dishes. I had stomach problems afterwards, but it would be unfair to definitely pin the cause on this meal though I was suspicious. The rooms are small and rather dingy. Could... More

Modern functional hotel in modern but vibrant city. Standard rooms a little small with rather boring decor but bathrooms clean and good size. Nice pool which closed at 5pm to allow restaurant to open around it with lovely jasmine scented garden around. Nice arcades of shops in hotel. Restaurant buffet which was adequate although not exciting. Said to be the... More

very bad stay at the safir hotel. i don't know where to start in describing this hotel. 1-when we arrived we discovered that they have made a mistake with our reservation ( they reserved 2 rooms less then what we needed , after a long debate we finally got a room. 2-and now was the big shock, we entered something... During our 10 day holiday in Syria we stayed in seven hotels and the Safir in Homs was easily the worst. Terrible overcrowded small rooms with tiny high windows. The main restaurant was closed therefore we had to eat either in rhe room or share a tepid buffet with sixty noisey Italiens. The food was terrible and as usual with... More

This is our second visit to Syria and the second time we’ve stayed here. I hated it last time but it’s really difficult to avoid staying in Homs travelling from Aleppo to Palmyra or Damascus and there really isn’t the choice of hotels in Homs or in any other town close by. We’d booked two rooms for one night and,... More

As a single traveller in a group tour, I often get very small rooms, and that was the case in Homs. As a result, walk space between the furniture, walls, etc is cramped. This was worsened by the fact that the bed supports stuck out an inch or 2 from the end of the mattress/box springs, and I broke a... More
