The Arusha Mountain Lodge is a nice place to relax after a long flight. The lodge is in a quiet location a short drive away from the local village and 40 minutes away from the airport. It has well kept gardens which are well flourished and quiet - a lovely place to have a drink. Wine is expensive here -... More

A great place to stay for a first night safari away from the hustle of Arusha. The Lodge is located about half a mile down a bumpy track off the main road, 60km from Kilimanjaro airport. The entrance gate always has guards on duty. On arrival you are greeted with a glass of fruit juice to drink whilst filling in... More

This was the first of four Serena lodges that we stayed in on our safari. Accommodations, food and service were all excellent. Grounds are well maintained and you can walk around. You need a flashlight at night.

This colonial style lodge is absolutely lovely. The staff that greets you and carries your luggage to the "hut" which is a beautifully laid out room with a spacious bathroom, door to a beautiful garden with a terrific view of the lake. There is no a/c but a ceiling fan which does the trick. The flora is lush and well... More

We were picked up at the airport in a safari jeep that helped set the atmosphere, then we were whipped down smooth roads by fields, small "cafes" and little shops. Then we turned left and a car was stuck in the middle of the dirt road where it had fallen into a huge rut. I couldn't believe that a decent... More

Very good lodge. Again, with the Serenas, we were placed in a far away room. Granted, because of the storm in NYC, we had to make some changes and we arrived a day early. That could be why we got that room location at this Serena. Service was excellent. Food was amazing. The lodge itself is beautiful. It's very old... More

Only stayed here for one night prior to our safari but everything was first class, as we expected from a Serena hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful and went the extra mile. Food very good and restaurant and bar service were faultless. The hotel setting is fabulous and the rooms wonderful, all looking out over Lake Dulati - a... More

I stayed here for 1 night prior to a safari and think that is the case of most customers. Rooms are very nice and away from the main building. The TV in the room had 1 English language news station. It was recommended not to leave the fenced area without an escort (seems a typical recommendation in Tanzania) Restaurant was... More

The room are fine, but could use a little maintenance. The rooms have the appearance of individual cottages, but are attached together. Very nice property but nothing around property but a lake. The hotel offers an excursion around the Lake ( additional charge) but not too much to see. A few birds and lizards and the trail is very rough.... More

The rooms are charming and the bathrooms excellent. The food is fairly good but the service is both slow and over attentive. The hotel grounds are relatively small and there is nowhere to go so there is not much to do here. It's fine for a rest after a night flight from Europe. .
