As with most travelers to Surat Thani, I stayed here one night before going to the airport. I decided to stay at the Like Residence because its profile on Agoda said that it had an airport transfer service for 300 baht. Unfortunately, when I tried to arrange this (which is really just a pre-ordered taxi), I was told the price was 600 baht and that the information on Agoda was outdated, which they had allegedly told Agoda but it had not yet been changed. I persuaded the manager that whoever might bear the responsibility for it, it was not me, so he concurred and said I would only have to pay 300. The next morning, the manager wasn't around, and the staff didn't know about this arrangement, so when I got to the airport, I gave the taxi driver 300 and tried to explain the deal I had made with the hotel. He didn't seem to understand and complained, saying "600, 600." When I wouldn't budge, he said "500, 500," so I relented and gave him another 100 and repeated "hotel pay." I hope it worked because it wasn't the driver's fault either. Points for effort to remedy the false advertising issue, but it was not smoothly executed. They really need to get their own website to control the accuracy of information published about the hotel. Otherwise, the room is good for one night of transit; comfortable bed, good A/C, good wifi, 7-11 down the street for traveling snacks, toiletries, and even breakfast and dinner if you don't want to try the nearby street vendors.…
