Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The hotel is quite old, never stay overnight here. However, I visit its restaurant every time I have a trip to Surat Thani. My favorite dishes are Garlic crab meat with bun, crispy fried pork and fried shrimp in tamarind sauce. My friends really love their yellow curry but it is too spicy for me.

This is a very Thai hotel (which we see as a positive!), slightly dated, but with a lovely pool, very clean. The restaurant does excellent Thai food (my partner had a favourite dish with shrimps, he has it everywhere, he said this was one of the best versions he'd ever had), and we had lunch and dinner there as there is plenty of choice. The wifi is quite poor which was a pain for working, and the shower head could have done with some work, but we had a nice time overall. Breakfast was mainly Thai options but again we enjoyed these a lot. If you want a Western style hotel don't come here, if you want to enjoy some Thailand with great food this is a nice place to stay for a night.

I am here since 1 hour and every part of the hotel I have seen so far is in very bad shape and dirty. - pool: not cleaned and full of leaves - room: blanked full of stains, hair all over the room, dirty toilet seat, ants every where, furniture falling apart and full of stains, towel dirty Like this hole place is a piece of trash. Really considering to check out again and just find another place. Really ruins the end of a wonderful vacation that I had so far here in thailand.

Not what i expected for the price, musty rooms, tired decor, reminded me of the film the shinning. Breakfast buffet was the saving grace. Staff were helpful but the hotel isnt really geared up for westerners. Its more of a local sales convention kind of place.

Nothing "GREAT" about this stay. Started up check-in in a room that smelled so bad, like somebody had been smoking in there. We asked to get another room, but that could only happen if we were okay with 2 single beds instead of a double bed - no problem, but very weird. The room in itself was okay, but nothing to write home about. There was a pool, but we didn't use it. Didn't go to the restaurant as well. We wanted to go to this "water park", and when we asked the receptionist about it, they said it was bad and that we would like the big mall better - a mall, really? Surat Thani in itself isn't anything special, so if you are planning to stay in Surat Thani because you are transiting, just go through the city, because it really isn't an exciting place. - the ferry to Koh Samui is like 30 minutes, so do that instead! You would like this option so much more. Hotel is fine for one night.

We have lunch at Wangtai Hotel. How marvelous Thai food here!!! Fresh fish in Kang Som แกงส้มปลากะพง, we have big pieces of fresh fish Test hot as southern food. I’m so surprise with Yam Mangosteen ยำมังคุด which is very very tummy!! ปลากระบอกทอดขมิ้น big size and super fresh. Spinach Pizza is also the signature here. Baby cramps bake with fresh baguette are very good. If you are vegetarian don’t forget to come here. Dry mushroom test like you have dry pork with sticky rice! Wang Tai , you have to come

I stayed at this hotel for 2 weeks and got by just fine. The hotel looks to be about 40 years old and is in need of a renovation. The people working at the hotel are the saving grace. The service level is excellent. They offer free breakfast which is really aimed at local people. That makes sense as most customers are Asian. For westerners, the breakfast is limited. The hotel excels at providing excellent conference rooms and the required support for them.
