I have been anywhere else that so successfully uses the local style in it's room design. The resort also blends well into the local environment which is a refreshing change from other options. We booked this hotel as part of a trip down the Mekong to Luang Prabang. If we had known how nice it was we would have stayed longer. It is a bit out of town but not far. This is a very beautiful hotel but it is completely ruined by being overrun by mosquitos. This is actually dangerous given the prevalance of dengue fever and malaria in this part of the world. Really nice hotel on the river. Staff were very friendly. We had a ground floor room, which was beautiful. The only annoying thing was the fact that from about 9pm until 1/2am frogs would make such a din, croaking away, very loudly. This didn't disturb my husband but I stuggled to sleep.
