We have visited Kanchanaburi a number of times and have stayed in a few different guesthouses. We wanted to stay at the Apple Guesthouse in the main area but they were full, so they suggested we stay at the Apples Retreat which is across Sutjai Bridge and a 100 metres down the rd to the right. It was bliss, all... more

This was my first trip to Thailand (or anywhere in Asia). I was looking forward to getting out of Bangkok & exploring the countryside ... first stop Kanchanaburi. Upon arrival in Kanchanaburi (wow so hot!) I called Apples and had a car pick me up in no time, just like they said they would in their email correspondence. The rooms... more

Hello everyone, I have 2 experiences to share. Experience 1 happ0ened in September this year and was good. My wife and I stayed there for 4 or 5 days and the restaurant and the rooms were very clean and the location very quiet to relax. However, the food was more expensive than other places. The cooking course was good fun... more

My husband and I stayed at Apple's RETREAT in November 2009 on our vacation. Pros - quiet location, excellent food, nice river views from the restaurant, free bicycles for guests, excellent advice from staff for planning our sightseeing and activities, excellent service, great value, strong air con, clean rooms, personable staff Cons - the Apple Retreat location is farther from... more

This Guest House is simple but lovely. It's 5mins walk from the main drag in Kanchanaburi but feels like a different world, really quiet and peaceful. The guest house itself is on one side of the road, surrounded by garden and with views over the hills, the restaurant is on the other side of the road on the riverbank. The... more

I visited this guest house in August which is located on the quiet, tranquil side of the river, across the bridge away from the main tourist street where most of the guest houses are. The new guest house is set in beautiful surroundings and is spotlessly clean. Moreover, the food in the restaurant is excellent and Apple and Noi were... more

i stayed there as part of my topdeck tour. The accomodation is basic with a bed, table and a bathroom. There aren't really any facilities. But its a short walk to internet cafes, bars, shops, etc. The guesthouse itself has a restaurant/cafe type of thing. The food is excellent there! I think they also provide thai cooking lessons. I'm not... more

We had a great time at the new Apple Retreat for 4 days. The rooms are new, clean, and quiet. The staff are great and friendly. They helped organize tours in the area and lent us mountain bikes to ride around the town. Because they have a cooking school in the resort, the food is really good. Also, because the... more
