My family and I have visited twice. Once for a brief visit and again a couple of years later for a week of relaxation. Yes it's a long way from anywhere, but that's its charm. I think its fairly remote location is a plus! We will never forget the awesome maitre d' in the beautiful terrace restauant, the lovely pools,... more

We stayed for a couple of nights on an excursion out of Bangkok. We had a river view room that was comfortable and had a balcony overlooking the river. The view was great. We enjoyed our trips to the cave and waterfall along the river, although the waterfall was a bit of a let down. Plus points: The setting, location... more

The hotel has three pricings: the first, cheapest is at 2100 baht, the second at 2300 and the third 2900. the last is for the new floating barges, which seem quite nice. but at 2900, the rate is very steep, knowing you can get a five star at this price in Bangkok. I chose the 2300 rate, being told there's... more

We chose to stay here as part of a two night extension from Bangkok and this included visits to local tourist spots around the Kanchanaburi vicinity. Its very pleasant and peaceful here. We had a river view room which was large and well positioned for great views of the river from the top floor. Breakfast and Dinner (Buffet style) were... more

We spent one night at the River Kwai Village Hotel as part of a 3 night tour from Bangkok. When we arrived we were given the option of a room in the main building or the more adventurous could stay in a floating raft-type room on the river itself. Naturally we opted for a river room. The rooms were approached... more

Just returned from 1 night stay at River Kwai Village. We stayed in the Raftel room and overall was an enjoyable stay. The room was clean and came with the basic toiletries. My hushand and myself loved the scenic view from our room. For people who are squeamish about insects might be appalled to find little spiders (found a few... more

We stayed at this hotel in March with a group of friends. Our room was a bit stale and the shower and batthroom a bit smelly but we got used of it after a while. better rooms would be down on the river which I think would be exceptional. The hotel grounds were excellent and a place to relax. The... more

We stayed for two nights at the River Kwai Village Hotel as part of a three day all inclusive tour. We were collected from our Bangkok hotel and taken by bus to Kanchanaburi. We were in a Mountain View Room which was very basic but clean and the bed was comfortable. A pool was right near our room and it... more

We stayed at the River Kwai Village Hotel for 5 nights over new year 2008. The hotel is clean but with pretty basic amenities for the price. The location is excellent with plenty to do and see. Avoid the elephant camp visit proposed by the hotel since we spent most of the time on the elephant walking along a road.... more

What an amazing experience, sleeping in a raft room in the middle of a very fast flowing river, it cannot be beaten. The rooms were excellent, I was expecting something quite basic when staying on a raft but these are beautiful made of solid hardwood with air conditioning, showers and TV. Each room has its own terrace area surrounded by... more
