Stayed in this hotel 7 years ago and 4 years ago. They don't seem to have done anything new to it, except for the lobby and the swimming pool. Unfortunately you don't sleep in any of these places. The rooms are a bit tired, bathroom sink and w.c. were cracked, bathtub had seen better days, felt sorry for the poor... more

I have not a lot to add to previous reviews for this hotel, just that the cemetry is not too far from hotel, turn right when you come onto main road but it is quite a decent walk to the Bridge and even the river. The room s where Ok but the place needs an upgrade. Breakfast was just OK.... more

We spent only one night there, hopefully, and took a superior room ( no more standard available). We were "welcomed" by an unfriendly staff who instead of saying "hello" only gave us the check-in form. Then we arrived to an old fashioned and smelly room. Everything needs to be changed in this hotel! When I woke up, I found a... more

I thought we'd got a great bargain when we booked for 3 nights at a great rate - then we actually got to the hotel. Even the lobby is dated. The staff seemed constantly confused when asked the most menial of questions. Our initial room resembled satans layer, the bellboy actually closed the curtains when we entered the room, because... more

In the first room the A/C temp meter was broken, and the bed sheets were stained In the second room which I got transfered to the beds were hard as a rock In the 3rd room: The window lock was broken and couldn't be opened Walls were cracked and stained The A/C was too weak, a temp of 16/C felt... more

The hotel was nice for the price we paid via Agoda (around 970 baht per night), in Bangkok at the ‘official’ tourist agency, they were asking for 1500 baht per night. The rooms are spacious, attractive and clean, but sadly let down by poor maintenance. Safe, mini bar, cute toiletries and hair dryer are all provided. The restaurant has good... more

We stayed just one night in two adjoining rooms as part of our 3 day tour to Kanchanaburi. The hotel is quite dated and the hallways could really do with an update. However the rooms were actually very comfortable and clean. The beds were really comfy and aircon worked well. Definitely not flash but ok for a one night stopover. more

Overall the hotel was good although it could do with an update. The pool was really nice, a good size and the breakfast more than suffient. The hotel is away from the main restaurants but they have reasonably priced food and entertainment. Bikes can also be hired to allow you to visit the sights and it is close to the... more

This hotel was a one night stop for us to stay in Kanchanaburi and visit the Tiger Temple and the River Kwai Bridge. It was a great hotel for the value. We had a nicely spaced room for $30 plus the inclusive of a hot buffet breakfast with an egg chef. Almost all the amenities included in what you would... more

Booked River Kwai Hotel after reading reports here on this site so I had a good feeling what to expect. Check-in was easy and efficient, room size was a bit better than expected. Biggest downside side was the bathroom and tube which could use a refresh. Staff is very friendly and was assisted when needed. Safebox is at the reception... more
