The Thai Hotel is a fairly big old hotel which was being renovated top floors first when we stayed. It has rooms ranging from ridiculously cheap and the price climbed as you added hot water, window air con, TV and fridge. The suites were really nice, and only slightly more expensive than the room we chose, but far larger than we needed and we only intended staying one night so we didn't bother. The rooms are basic but very clean, with a couple of satellite channels on TV. Our main gripe was the brand new air con unit - there was no control, you either got Siberia in mid-winter or off. We got a maintenance man in but he either didn't understand that we wanted it a bit warmer or didn't know how to set it. There were fly screens on the windows, so we had them open but the town centre location which is excellent in every other regard was a bit too noisy.
