When staying in Pai we had sadlycome to our last couple of days and decided we wanted have more adventure via white water rafting, and found out that from a little place called Sappong you could actually take a day trip to Mae Hong Son - which was45km down Pai River.
We had previously been to Mae Hong Son 5 years ago and stayed in a little guest house called Pia's Guest house (which was right on the lake) - this time however under our agents recommendation we stay at Rom Thai House (Budget room) situated about 5mins walk on the other side of the lake. Clean and very basic accomodation - shower & toilet combined so was always wet . Guest house I would say a family concern and very conservative. There is no food service available so you must go into town. more
