Palm Guest house was great value for money. My husband and I paid $23AUS for a double room per night. The owners were very friendly and helpful, and spoke exceptionally good English. Unlimited coffee and tea, and two bottles of water were also part of the daily deal.

The room was large, airy and clean and divided into an eating and sleeping area. The bed was very comfortable and we were provided with lots of wardrobe and cupboard space. The nights in Pai were quite chilly but we were supplied with plenty of clean quilts and blankets.

The bathroom was squeaky clean with lots of hot water for showers. We did notice, however, a strange smell coming from the bathroom drain. My brother, a seasoned traveler, suggested, next time a similar problem arises, that we cover the drain with a damp face washer or paper towel.
