I stayed in the Mercure Hotel in Patong from 1/12/08 - 4/12/08 and really enjoyed it. The room I had overlooked the Otop markets, was great to sit out on the balcony and watch the night life. Rooms are very nice, make sure you ask for a king size bed (should be at no extra cost) and pool view, otherwise they might give you a double bed with rooftop view for same price.
