We stayed at The Chedi for 5 nights at the start of our honeymoon in March 2008. Overall, we had a wonderful time! On arrival, we were greeted with a nice cold drink, and a cool towel. We were then shown to our hillside cabin, which was very tidy and comfortable to stay in. Every day, the staff would leave... more

After arriving early evening and hearing the loud frog-noises at the entrance/reception area, we were shown to our apartment....way up in the jungle about 50m above sea-level! at the top...which has one advantage, you dont get any other guests walking past your room...the slats/blinds dont really block out all of the light, so its not too private for the rooms... more

We come to The Chedi for over 10 years at least twice a year, and it is an awfull long way from Europe to Phuket, but I would never want to stay anywhere else than here. I agree, that almost erverything written before is true. There are Hotels in Phuket with newer, much modern rooms than The Chedi, so if... more

You can't beat The Chedi's setting on a great little beach with thatched roof cottages interspersed amidst tropical foliage. But if I hadn't been staying on a "buy two nights, get one free" package, I would have been very disappointed and given it a lower rating. The service just isn't as "crisp" as one would expect. Staff are too casual,... more

We've stayed at the Chedi Phuket twice now and would love to go back. Pay a bit extra to stay in a beach front villa, it's really worth it and adds to the experience. The hillside villas are okay but the beach front ones are amazing. Looking out of your window in a morning straight onto the beach and having... more

We stayed at the Chedi for 8 nights in late October 08 in a deluxe one bedroom cottage. We were happy enough with the place but got a stay 8 pay 4 nights deal. If we had paid full price I don’t think I would have been as satisfied. The room was nice, bathroom was nice, I liked the sun... more

Yes this hotel has a lot of steps, particularly if you stay in Bungalow 224 (about as high up as you can get) as we did. Considering everything else that this hotel has to offer, the steps become a trivial issue. Upon arrival, we were greeted with a refreshing glass of fruit juice and given a quick but thorough explanation... more

Despite some of the reviews previously mentioning the problems with distance, steps etc we booked in over Christmas. We found the place to be lovely and whilst there were steps and sometimes a distance from one restaurant or the other, I couldn't see anything wrong with the place. The bungalows were very comfortable and whilst some had views, others didn't... more

I love this hotel. it does not feel like a hotel at all, its all luxury cottages nestled on a hillside overlooking the most beautiful beach in thailand called Pansea beach. The Amanpuri is next door and alot more expensive. The Chedi's rooms are very nice. the beds are comfortable. The floors are hard wood and very exotic. The food... more

Me more than my husband read the reviews on this site but we were both disappointed as we perused the bad reviews about the Chedi before embarking on our trip. But it was booked so we went with the attitude of making the most of it. We didn't mind the steps and apart from the slippy floor (dangerous at times)... more
