We checked into the Karin after it was suggested when we couldn't find our first choice place. After we had paid up front, we were informed there was currently no electricity in the rooms. A power cut was understandable given the horrible storm of a few hours earlier, but we should have been told before we handde over the money.... more

I've stayed at the Karen a number of times and find it to be a pretty good value. It is an average, mid-size hotel in a decent area. For around 450B, you get TV, aircon, and hot water. Further, it is within walking distance of the main shopping center. more

Upon checking in at the karin hotel I asked if they had safes in the rooms or a secure box for valuables (passport and spare credit cards, etc.).
