Le Sultan has a quiet setting on Tunisia's Hammamet coastline. You'll be a few steps away from the small hotel beach, where you can swim. The whitewashed hotel overlooks its own pool area and out towards the Gulf of Hammamet. Days can be spent relaxing on the terrace or unwinding in the spa, which has a indoor pool. Children can play in the kids' pool. Le Sultan has tennis courts, table tennis and mini golf. There's a golf course a short drive away, and the hotel puts on a shuttle bus. You can also go horse riding along the beach with horses from the hotel's stables. For children, there's a playground as well as a kids' club where they can get involved with organised activities throughout the day. The hotel has several restaurants and bars, where you can get meals, snacks and local soft and alcoholic drinks. 2019 the hotel was renovated in following areas: new beach, extended pool bar, playground and pastry lab, renovated rooms and pool decking.

I have been to the Sultan many times and can recommend it during spring and autumn, since the hotel staff is amazing - they all deserve a higher salary considering their hard work and incredible friendliness even when the guests are rude! However, I cannot recommend any decent person to book in summer time!! The Tunisian guests in summer are the worst people I have ever met. There are so many lovely Tunisians and the Sultan somehow attracts the worst: super loud at any time of day, throwing food on the floor at the pool and buffet for other guests to slip on, hording tons of food on their tables which they don't eat and it has to be thrown out (I have never seen such a waste while other people in this country have nothing to eat!), cutting in front of people at the buffet, children running around unsupervised at the pool or during the shows even when it's dangerous, adults stealing or breaking animation equipment on a daily basis (aqua gym noodles, boccia balls, etc). They speak rudely to the staff and to other guests. I had a man aggressively fighting me over a specific chair at the bar with two other empty chairs right next to him - then he even followed me when I had already offered him the chair he wanted - Should this happen to me in a 4 star hotel? The owner seems to have the policy that the guests are always right - but does this apply when they disturb or even threaten other guests?! Otherwise nice hotel, nice pool/garden/beach and rooms, everything clean, great quality of drinks/food. No good vegetarian options - there is meat/fish/tuna in almost every dish or salad - why? Thanks to the whole bar and restaurant team and the life guards, impeccable service! Also a big thanks to Amal at the reception who helped us extend our stay when I was ill. Jamel and Haykel provide excellent animation! - however, the rest of the team was unmotivated and unfriendly, and it did not seem like the animation chief cared. The circus show at night was amazing - Madame Olga's dancing is completely boring and repetitive and she comes to the hotel every second night. I have come to this hotel since I was a child and it used to be very different with the old owner, so I hope things will change again.

Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback about your experiences at Le Sultan. We truly appreciate your loyalty and the insights you've provided. We are glad to hear that you've found our staff amazing and commend their hard work and friendliness, even in challenging situations. We are sorry, however, to learn about the negative experiences you've encountered during the summer months. It's disheartening to hear about the disruptive behavior of some guests, and we understand how this can impact the overall atmosphere. Your constructive feedback about the vegetarian options, animation team, and the variety of shows is duly noted. We are committed to continuously improving our services, and your input is invaluable in this regard. We appreciate your recognition of the excellent service provided by our bar and restaurant teams, as well as the lifeguards. We are sorry for any inconvenience caused by the changes you've observed over the years, and we assure you that we will take your comments into careful consideration as we strive to enhance the overall guest experience. Thank you once again for your detailed feedback, and we hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future with an improved experience.

We spent a week at Le Sultan Hotel in June 2023…. What did we think of it? ……. We booked a 14-night break for June 2024 the moment we got home! Upon our arrival we were wowed by the stunning view through reception over the pool and out to the crystal blue sea. We were given a warm greeting as we entered the hotel, and we were shown to the seating area to await our check in. However, rather than being left to wait, we were served a refreshing cool drink and given a warm moist towel to freshen up. The receptionist came to where we were seated to allocate our room and provide us with all the details that we needed for our stay. Shortly after this we were escorted to our room. We experienced one minor issue with our room and once we highlighted this with reception, they dealt it efficiently and with a smile, it appeared that nothing was too much trouble to make sure we were happy. Throughout our stay we were delighted with every aspect of the hotel. The food was outstanding, so much choice and variety for every meal every day. The food was always plentiful, displayed imaginatively, with much of it being prepared freshly in front of you. While it was all excellent, a particular highlight was the outside bar-be-que. Which served freshly cooked fish and vegetables. Even my partner, who refuses to eat fish at home was queuing up here for his meal and to discuss recipes/cooking techniques with the chef, who was always happy to take the time to talk about the type of fish that was being served that day. The suspicious red juice drink at breakfast is to die for! We tried it expecting a sugary processed drink only to be pleasantly surprised that it was pure strawberry juice! We opted for the all-inclusive package and found that a wide variety of drinks, both soft and alcoholic were always available when we wanted them, either from Le Calife (inside) or Yasmine (pool bar). We didn’t feel it necessary to pay extra for the branded drinks as the quality of those available was of such a good standard. Our room had a stunning view of the sea, and while not luxurious, had everything that you would need, including shower gel and shampoo, which was replaced each day as required. The air conditioning worked well, and the fridge was ideal to keep water and other drinks cool for when we returned to the room after a day by the pool, in the garden, or on the beach. Normally we would venture into the resort and never spend all our time at the hotel. However, on this occasion we chose to do just that, partly because we wanted to spend a week relaxing but also because there were so many activities to keep you occupied. We’re really looking forward to taking advantage of all the included water sports when we return. The entertainment staff were informative but never pushy, so we always felt confident that we could join in with any of the activities, but that we knew we would be left in peace if we decided to just relax in the sunshine. Every morning, we enjoyed a walk along the beautiful beach and still remember the feel of the hot sand and warm sea on our feet. Although there were vendors selling their wares, they didn’t intimidate us at any time and once we said ‘no thank you’ they left us in peace. We swam in the sea on a number of occasions and always felt safe as the hotel security was on hand in the vicinity of the hotel. We never had an issue with finding a sunbed, in fact we were able to return to the same spot every day, partly due to the fact that we didn’t see any early morning ‘marking of territory’ with the infamous beach towels. The snack bar served some excellent food, however, we only used this once due to the quality of the food in the main restaurant. The quality of the entertainment on the main stage was variable, but again there were some outstanding performers. We particularly enjoyed the violinist and singer. Although we didn’t travel with children the children’s entertainment appeared to be excellent, this took place in Le Calife in the evening and didn’t disturb the hotel guests who were seated in other areas. Special mention and thanks to two outstanding members of staff who made this wonderful experience into an exceptional one. We spent many of our evenings sat in the soft furnished area outside Le Calife bar, looking over the pool out to sea. Here our evenings were made complete by the outstanding care and attention given to us by our good friend Sofien. His charm, smile and good humour made us feel as if this was our home from home every evening. We can’t wait to get back and see him again. He went above and beyond to make sure we had the best place to sit, in our case away from smokers, and that we were never left wanting for anything. What we enjoyed most of all, were the moments (which unfortunately were not as frequent as we would have liked, as he and the other staff all worked so incredibly hard) when he had the opportunity to just chat with us and share stories and information about our different cultures. As already mentioned, the food at Le Sultan played a major role in making this such a memorable holiday. However, our meals became a dining experience thanks to the amazing Morad! We wanted to dine in the conservatory to fully appreciate the view out to sea as we ate, and Morad made sure that there was always a table available for us, no matter when we arrived. He quickly noted what we drank with our meals and ensured that this was on our table as we were seated, and that these were refreshed at exactly the right time throughout our meal. When possible, he even moved our table and chairs outside so we could genuinely dine alfresco. He and his team ensured that finished plates were never left on tables longer than necessary and that if any additional cutlery was required it would be waiting for us upon our return from the restaurant. We are really looking forward to dining at Le Sultan again thanks to Morad. Overall, we have only given you a brief outline of our experience but hope that this gives you a taste of this fabulous hotel and staff. Don’t hesitate, book it!

We booked to return again before the holiday had even ended! The staff are fantastic and key to the success of Le Sultan. It’s a bit rough around the edges in places but generally a lovely hotel. We had an odd start as when we arrived in our room (269) there was a painter refreshing it and the main bed was not made up. We assumed it was a mistake and so expected to move but instead they chased out the painter and said room service would do the main bed in 5 minutes. To be fair, they did. We debated asking for a move but we were tired and figured that once we were back from the pool the paint would have dried. Which it had. It wasn’t toxic and so we just chose to remain. The room was otherwise beautiful. Bathroom shower leaked because the screen was too far forward from the edge of the shower but we found a solution in a rolled up towel. Good powerful shower and no complaint. My only real complaint about the room was the bed creaked terribly when you moved at all. Woke us up a few of times. But again, not a deal breaker. As a family room it was great. Kids loved it. Comfy beds and loads of space. The hotel in general is very clean and lovely to look at. Outdoor lounging is gorgeous at night. The entertainment team work really hard - all the staff do - and some of the entertainment is really excellent. The dancers are wonderful and the New Year Gala dinner was a spectacle. Food - if you come here and say you can’t find food to eat then the issue is you!! The food is excellent - fresh, varied and really tasty. We miss it already! Mix of Tunisian, European, Asian and Italian. Fresh salads, bread and pasta at all lunches and dinners so no problem feeding the kids. The desserts are sweet and fresh and the fruit is gorgeous, with a selection of gelato that the kids loved helping themselves to. The staff here work very very hard and deserve to be tipped. It is the culture here to do so and we tipped between 5 and 10 dinar frequently. (Google Tunisian minimum wage for a uk comparison and you will not begrudge rewarding their work!!!) If I had one recommendation that would make a marked difference it is that the waiters should carry a cloth with them and wipe down the tables more often. Especially around the pool edge. They collect and deliver glasses but there is no wipe down that we could see and the tables were often dirty. This would make a real difference. We will be returning in 27th December 2024 and already can’t wait!

Hotel is average, food is cold and dull at best. Too many unsupervised children running around. New Year’s Eve dinner, food was awful, service was bad, allowing people to smoke and vape at tables at an indoor venue. Advertised a gala dinner, but never received half of it. Reception staff unreliable and abrupt. This hotel is quite remote and should be offering an exceptional experience to ensure travelers would want to return.

My favourite hotel in Tunisia 🇹🇳. The staff really set this hotel apart from other local hotels. Everyone is so friendly and professional. Being married to a Tunisian I have holidayed in Hammamet many times over the past 15 years. This is my third time at Le Sultan and it's by far my favourite hotel. The location is excellent, stunning views and beachfront location. The hotel offers a touch of class and the quality of everything is excellent. Family rooms are spacious, whilst also offering privacy. Design is contemporary and there is lots of storage. The hotel bar offers excellent table service, friendly staff and a lovely haven to relax and watch the world go by or read a book. The kids are loving the indoor pool which is warm , lots of loungers and manned by a friendly lifeguard. The food is delicious, always fresh and lots of choice. Our waiter looked after us very well and always had our table and drinks ready for us. All of the staff are very smart and friendly always making us feel very welcome like nothing is too much trouble. They all communicate very well in English. The staff from the entertainment team and kids club have helped us to really enjoy the holiday even when the weather was not so good. We have enjoyed aqua aerobics most days and the kids have had fun playing darts with Haykal and learning archery with Mouna. Even the baby Omar has had fun in mini club with Tata, also enjoying the excellent outside play area which is very well equipped. The kids have had pony rudes and even a riding lesson which my daughter loved. Overall a wonderful holiday. I would highly recommend this hotel to families, couples and those travelling alone. You will be sure of a warm welcome. I hope we will be back soon, inshallah 🙏. Thank you all so much.
