On arrival to the last day we were made very welcome the staff made an effort to speak to us in English even though it was a French Hotel, On the first night the Manager Sami ben Mansour came up to us and he knew instantly what room we were in and we were here for the golf by the... more

I have just arrived back after spending a week in the Shalimar from 30th December 2007 to 6 January 2008 with my girlfriend and her family through Sol Africa. There were 6 of us including my girlfriend's brother and sister under 20 years old - all except for myself are French. The hotel is very impressive and of a very... more

We went as a family with two teenage sons, absolutely nothing for them to do, all the entertainment was in French (they did German at School). After the entertainment team realised we did not speak French, they actively avoided us. Watching a French opera about birth of Jesus, ballroom dancing and weakest link in French were not our idea of... more

Shocking. Wine in beer glasses, beer in wine glasses, chipped always. Food ok, could always find something but slightly repetative. Hotel is for French guests, not british. Everything in french, kareokee in frech, food labels in french.... Will never visit Tunisia again which is a shame as i hear they're are nice hotels here. Travelled the globe and never been... more

The hotel was booked with Thompson after viewing there broucher and deciding that it had everything we wanted for our children aged 11and 13.So we looked forward to our August 06 holiday. Marie. UK,Portmouth We stayed at the Shalimar Hotel for one week over New Year, and had a fantastic time! I will admit that the 50min trip (as we were told) from the airport to the hotel turned out to be nearly two hours, but this was no real problem as the coach was clean and comfortable. On arrival at the... more
