If you want to stay in Mahdia's enchanting medina, this is about it at present! A private house turned into a small hotel, where most rooms have water but the bathrooms and showers are shared. The place is clean and friendly, and only charged me 15 DT off-season, which included a quite satisfactory breakfast.

If your primary goal is time on the beach, you should stay at a larger hotel outside the medina, and apparently, the further along the peninsula (W) the cleaner the beach. more
