We have just returned from an excellent short break at the Papermoon Hotel in Kalkan. The hotel is well placed, not too far a walk from the centre of Kalkan. We were delighted with the friendly welcome by Mert & Burc, nothing was too much trouble for them and they ensured we had a great stay.

We were the very first guests for Mert & Burc in their new family venture. They have taken over the Papermoon and honoured our booking that was made previously. Since my last visit to the Papermoon I understand the hotel now has a new owner who has completely refurbished the property. The comments in my last critical review may no longer apply. The ratings I have provided are all average as I have not stayed at the hotel recently but just heard of new owner.

I booked the Paper Moon after reading favourable reviews on Tripadvisor, I have been to Kalkan many times and my usual hotel was fully booked. It was very disappointing. We picked Papermoon on the basis of the previous Tripadvisor comments and we weren't disappointed! Sitting round the amazingly clean pool the place has a relaxed bohemian feel - the flowers are beautiful, the retro poolside tunes are great, brothers Alp and Altay are around if you need anything and just generally life feels great! Extremely friendly and relaxed atmosphere, especially the poolside bar where great music and conversation were on offer day or night!! Alp's superb grasp of english puts most of us to shame but makes for an excellent stay. Beware the Efes Dark beer however, it bites..........!!

The great thing about this small, family run hotel is that they have mastered the art of making excellent hospitality seem so easy. Nothing was ever any trouble to Alp, who was a marvelously conversational and erudite host; chats about sci-fi, fantasy movies, human progress, Turkey, Cyprus, global politics and Cash In The Attic, a BBC 2 TV programme etc...
