My husband and I chose Shoestring after reading their website and seeing the very attractive offer of 9 euro per person per night for an ensuite double room. When we arrived however we were told that the cost of the room was instead 15 euro per person per night. When we asked what the additional cost was for, the manager... more

We fully agree with the "Mixed Review" posted on 8 July. The rooms are reasonably priced and breakfast is very good. Based purely on the accommodation we would have rated this place 4/5. The reason our rating is lower is because we decided to book extras through Shoestrings and cannot help but feel ripped off - everything was over promised... more

I intended to stay in Göreme for 2 days and ended up staying 4 and a half due to the beauty of the landscapes, their people, but also because of how much I was enjoying my stay at Shoestring. I was in a dorm with around other 15 people, shared shower, paid 15 TYL. For that price I got a... more

This hotel is in a great spot and has affordable prices, but I left a camera unattended for 5 minutes right outside our room and it was stolen. The staff did not seem overly concerned. And the pool was dirty. All considered, a good place to stay, but don't leave anything unattended! more

Shoestring was my favorite place I stayed on my trip to Turkey. The rooms are a good deal (20 Euros for a large room and private bath) even if they a bit dark. We got a good night's sleep every night on the comfortable beds in our quiet and dark cave. Unlike other hotels, we were able to pick our... more

The pension is very inexpensive and very basic. We stayed in a cave room, which seemed romantic, but it was actually quite dark and depressing, especially with a couple of missing lights. We were glad to have a headlamp and book light to help us see in our room! But we weren't in Turkey to hang out in a cave.... more

There are several great things about Shoestring including: 1) Free bus terminal pick-up/drop-off. Just have the tourist office guy give them a call and they'll be there within 5min 2) Cave Rooms 3) Good price from the rooms 4) Great breakfast 5) Nice pool 6) Fun atmosphere They take guests to a Turkish Night where you see live dancing (dervishes,... more

The staffs was very helpful and very friendly , the food was excellent , the rooms are designed professionally , location was very close to the down town . When we arrive in the... more

I am a solo traveller, paid 20YTL for a double bed cave room with bath attach. Clean, nice and comfortable. The staffs were all very friendly and helpful. After check out, if you still have a long waiting time, you can still use there common area to rest, surf the internet for free, and bath too. To reach the cave,... more

The rooms were all caves, with different size and ambience. We got a private double for $10 per person. The cave walls were whitewashed with limestone and the floor was wooden. The room was small with two twin beds which we pushed together. Everything was clean, including the linens. It was great to have our own space, so that we... more
