This place has no atmosphere and terrible rooms. The beds are uncomfortable and look far from clean. The staff were not welcoming and we even felt like we were a burden while we checked in. The worst part of it all are the terrible toilets, the seats aren't attached so when you put them on you have to be careful... More

No frills, but a nice enough place to spend the night in Colonia. He rooms are old but clean. The lounge area is nice and airy and the breakfast is okay. Colonia is a tiny place, so it doesn't really matter where you stay, but this place is located only a couple of blocks from the port and bus station... More

Hostel El Espanol is located close to Old Town and river port (ferry to BA) and is ok for one night stay, when you are just for short visit in Uruguay. Big dorm with bathroom was quite clean. WiFi was only in common area. Small breakfast included.

A no frills youth hostel, well located for Colonia with clean rooms and friendly enough service. We found it excellent value for money and conveniently located near to the bus station for early journeys!

Hostel well located, near the harbour & the old city. Very nice from the outside, a bit rundown in the inside! Close to the harbour and cheap. Breakfast included, medialunas con cafe. These are the things mainly. The bath, combined with toilet are old and shabby and rusty. There is no toilet seat. They were renewing, so at 7h30 loud work begun at the window. But anyway, for one night it was cheap and close to the harbour.
