Eighteen months ago my sister went to live in Vietnam. She kept telling me about a beautiful island she'd discovered, and said it was like paradise. I went to visit her in April and for a birthday treat she took me there. She hadn't been joking when she said it was paradise. We had the most magical, peaceful, private three days of pure luxury at Le Domaine De Tam Hai Resort. There are just 12 well-equipped beach bungalows, all with outside tropical shower and private garden. There are no shops, no nightlife, no hustle and bustle – nothing. It really is a place of peace and tranquility, where the only noise you hear is the singing of birds and the sound of distant fishing boats. To open the sliding doors in the morning and to see nothing but nature, sand and sea is just pure heaven.
