It was our honeymoon and many wouldn't want to change rooms twice for a five night sojourn...however, we were fortunate enough to stay in the Garden Cottage, a River Cottage and the delectable and stunning Honeymoon house. As stated on the website, you are provided with a valet throughout your stay. Our valet was Isaac and we couldn't have been... more

Although Tongabezi, on the banks of the Zambezi, is naturally African and romantic, we stayed on Sinabezi Island down the Zambezi about fifteen minutes by boat. We had an open view to the river, wildlife and birds. Our every need was anticipated by Charles, our valet. We had a boat, qualified guide and land vehicle always at our disposal. Our... more

Tongabezi Lodge felt like something out of a Hollywood movie. Each "room" ( in our case, there was three walls, and the fourth side opened totally onto the Zambezi River, a dreamy perspective ( bugs in the room were no problem at all when we were there, nor did anything else unwanted enter our room). Each room has a designated... more

We stayed on the secluded island - part of the lodge - 20mins from lodge and no hot water even in the cabin with hot water. staff were great but one toilet was up a wooden path ouside at least 3 metres away and 3 metres off the ground and the management put my over 80 Mum in this cabin... more

we stayed at Tongabezi at the end of our gorgeous honeymoon. It was so lovely to be welcomed by the smiley staff and the monkeys! We stayed in the gorgeous bird house with just the mozzie net to shield us from the elements but there were hardly any bugs, in fact I didn't see one mozzie! The included trips are... more

I stayed for 3 nights in the "Nut House" which was a fabulous villa with incredible views. The staff at the Lodge were fantastic, they all found a way to know your name and use it. The school which is on premise for the children of employees was fantastic and well worth a visit and interacting with the kids. Food... more

There are many lodges designed for tourists in Livingstone, but Tongabezi really is extraordinary! We were in the Dog House, a large space open to the water. I had read a previous review with concerns about wasps--and while there were wasps in the Dog House, we actually saw them everywhere. They tend to leave one alone and disappear at night!... more

My wife and I arrived at Tongabezi Lodge on the fifth stop of our 16 day Botswanan/Zambian holiday. We had originally (a year ago) booked the riverside "Dog House", however upon arrival the management told us that there was a wasp problem there, and that since they were aware of my allergies to insect stings would we mind upgrading to... more

We ended our honeymoon trip at tongabezi after a 6 night safari in botswana. We stayed in the nut house which was absolutely stunning a private house overlooking the zambezi with a plunge pool looking out over the river all very romantic. The house itself was beautiful and the gorgeous 4 poster bed had a fabulous view over the river... more

Fantastic service. Great ambience sitting around the firepit at night chatting to other residents. The accommodation is in separate cottages each with a view of the Zambezi. Our first night was in the Garden cottage and we were escorted back to our rooms in case we met a hippo. We returned from dinner to find our bed turned down and... more
