We stayed at Chanters following a 8 day tour of Namibia, Botswana and Vic Falls. Chanters is ideal for families, solos or couples. The staff were pleasant, friendly and the service was exceptional. Our stay was made more pleasant by Richard, the owner, who went out of his way to help and advise ( as well as taxi) us. The... more

Stayed here for 4 nights at the start of our African holiday. Richard met us at he airport and was extremely friendly and helpful throughout our trip, organising trips to Livingstone Island and Chobe Park and a cruise on the Zambezi. He also drove us to Victoria Falls one day and gave us lots of useful tips and interesting information.... more

Thanks for your review. Our apologies concerning the state of bed linen and the mattress. All linenand towels have since been renewed at the lodge, and we'll check the mattresses - we have not received this particular complaint before. Sorry too for the inconvenience caused by the building of the new rooms, which are now virtually complete and the garden...

We stayed for a couple of nights while seeing the Falls - Chanters lodge is clean and very well run, and feels safe and peaceful. There's a nice pool to help with the heat, and aircon in the rooms. The food in the restaurant is pretty good too. Richard has developed a lovely group of staff, who were always helpful... more

Chanters is a warm, restful oasis. The accommodations are tidy and comfortable, and the staff is kind, efficient and helpful. They made a 24-hour stay in Livingstone more than we could have hoped with advice and arrangements to get the most out of a visit Victoria Falls and its environs. If you decide to stay here, you'll be so glad... more

This review is long overdue, my apologies for that. My husband and I stayed in Livingstone on the front end of our two week vacation to Zambia and Zimbabwe. We spent three wonderful nights at Chanters Lodge. Initially we were only planning on spending two nights in Livingstone but because of the wonderful reviews I read on Tripadvisor before the... more

I spent two short periods (two nights and three nights) at the beginning and end of a Biosphere expedition to Caprivi at Chanters Lodge having stayed in one of the bigger hotels last year. Chanters was delightful and the staff very friendly and helpful. Richard, the manager, made advance bookings for me of a number of activities by email and... more

I stayed at Chanters for 4 nights while doing various adventure activities around the Zambezi River & Victoria Falls. The staff were excellent, very friendly and efficient. The room could have been in any expensive star hotel, complete with shower & bath, cable tv, air conditioning, a very comfortable bed and extra blankets if needed. The earthy colours of the... more

Thanks for your kind review - sorry our location doesn't seem to have suited you too well. It's worth noting, however, that we're just five minutes from the city centre , less than ten from Livingstone Airport and less than 20 minutes by car from the Falls. Thanks again for the kind review and it was a pleasure to be...

Booking an entire holiday online can be daunting you never quite know if the description and pictures will match your experience. Well it didn’t…staying at Chanters with Richard well surpassed any expectations. I remember seeing Richards anxious face as I got through arrivals (I was the last one through), the difference between staying at a large 5 star verses Chanters... more

Thanks for your kind review - being a small lodge we do have the capacity to take more personal care of our Clients than some larger establishments, and this is what we try to do. How nice to hear that in your case it was appreciated and we were very happy you enjoyed your stay.

It starts with the friendly face of Richard meeting you at the airport, you know straight away that you are in safe hands and this is going to be a good stay. The room is clean, the beds are comfortable, colour TV (just to keep up-to-date with The Ashes), Wi-Fi (just to keep up-to-date with home etc.) and the plumbing... more

My wife and I along with our two adult daughters and their partners had the pleasure of staying with Richard and staff in early May. The abundant advice and help Richard offers are what makes his establishment so unique. Nothing is too much trouble for him to assist with. We really enjoyed relaxing by the pool and thought the restaurant... more
