My wife and I had been living in Zambia while I was teaching at the University of Zambia on a Fulbright Fellowship. We had some extra time before the semester started, so we were told that absolutely "had to" see Victoria Falls. Sounded good to us, but selecting a place to stay is difficult when there are so many choices.... more

Having travelled most of my adult life in search of a perfect "off the beaten track" restful and "in tune" with the natural suroundings place to spend some nights, I found Chandukwa. more

I would really recommend this lodge to anyone looking for a relaxing few days by the river. The 'hut' on stilts was beautifully decorated and we had an amazing view of the crocs swimming by. I fell asleep to the sound of the hippos. Great food, great service and a really friendly welcome - I'll be back for sure! more
